On August 29, 2013, at approximately 2:32 a.m., Bakersfield Police Sergeant Greg Jehle was
patrolling in the 2500 block of P Street, when he recognized a vehicle possibly involved in the hit
and run that occurred in the 3100 block of Q Street.
Officers made contact with the driver, who was interviewed and subsequently arrested.
Anthony Morales, 29, was arrested for hit and run causing death, driving on a suspended
license and vehicular manslaughter, for the vehicle versus pedestrian traffic collision that
occurred on August 27, 2013.

Previous Release August 27, 2013
On Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at 1:27 pm, the Bakersfield Police Department responded to the
3100 block of Q Street for a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic accident. Investigation revealed an
adult female was walking in the roadway outside of a crosswalk and struck by a vehicle;
Black raised single cab pickup with a possible chrome or single stripe on the side
and loud exhaust.
The pedestrian succumbed to her injuries at the scene. The name of the deceased pedestrian
is being withheld pending the Kern County Coroner Office’s notification of the family. This
investigation of this collision is continuing.
