On Saturday, September 14th, 2013, from 8:00 a.m. to 11 a.m., the City of Bakersfield Animal Control Division will be offering low cost rabies vaccinations and licensing for city residents. City residents will also have the opportunity to have their pet implanted with a FREE microchip, if their pet is currently licensed. The clinic will be at Heritage Park, located at 2320 Mt. Vernon Avenue. The microchip program is an effort focused on reducing the number of animals entering the shelter system. Typically micro chipped pets are not taken to the shelter, instead they are returned home. For more information, please contact the City of Bakersfield Animal Control Division at 661-326-3436.
