HomeMy WebLinkAbout13_09_13 Street Prostitution Operation BAKERSFIELD POLICE DEPARTMENT PRESS RELEASE Greg Williamson, Chief of Police Contact: Michaela Sims Public Information Office 661-326-3803 msims@bakersfieldpd.us For Immediate Release September 13, 2013 On September 12th, 2013, the Bakersfield Police Department and the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Joint Vice Task Force along with agents from the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control conducted a prostitution suppression operation in the area of Union Avenue in Bakersfield, California. This operation was conducted near businesses that are licensed by the California Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC). During this operation, 15 adult suspects, and 1 juvenile suspect were arrested for solicitation for prostitution. Funding for this operation was provided by a grant from the California Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) through the Department’s Grant Assistance Program. ABC is a Department of the Business, Transportation and Housing Agency. You can now send an anonymous text message to the Bakersfield Police Department. It’s quick and it’s easy.
