On September 12th, 2013, the Bakersfield Police Department and the Kern
County Sheriff’s Office Joint Vice Task Force along with agents from the
California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control conducted a
prostitution suppression operation in the area of Union Avenue in
Bakersfield, California.
This operation was conducted near businesses that are licensed by the
California Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC). During this operation, 15
adult suspects, and 1 juvenile suspect were arrested for solicitation for
prostitution.
Funding for this operation was provided by a grant from the California
Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) through the Department’s Grant
Assistance Program. ABC is a Department of the Business, Transportation
and Housing Agency.
