The Bakersfield Police Department is requesting the community’s assistance in
identifying a suspect wanted for assault with a deadly weapon, robbery and carjacking.
On Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at approximately 8:27 a.m., Bakersfield Police
Department Communications Center received two calls; one to report a victim of a traffic
collision and another to report a victim of an assault, both in the 200 block of H Street.
When officers arrived, they located the adult male victim in the street with bystanders
attempting to provide aide.
The investigation revealed the victim was a courier conducting business at 217 H
Street. When he returned to his vehicle, he was confronted by the suspect. A struggle
ensued as the suspect attempted to take items of value from the victim. The suspect
assaulted the victim with a golf club and forcibly took the victim’s vehicle. The victim’s
vehicle is described as a yellow 2007 Chevy Aveo with Transformer graphics.
The victim was transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries.
The victim’s vehicle was abandoned a short distance away and recovered by police.
The suspect is described as a Black male adult, 5’09” tall, with a medium build and
wearing a gray shirt.
The investigation is continuing.
