For Immediate Release September 24, 2013
On September 20, 2013, the Bakersfield Police Department and the Kern
County Sheriff’s Office Joint Vice Task Force along with agents from the
California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, conducted an
undercover operation at the Kern County Fair.
Plain clothes officers were looking for minors in possession of alcohol and
subjects providing alcohol to minors. (4) Minors under 21 years of age were
cited for possession of alcohol. (3) subjects 21 years of age or older were
cited for providing alcohol to a minor.
Funding for this operation was provided by a grant from the California
Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) through the Department’s Grant
Assistance Program. ABC is a Department of the Business, Transportation
and Housing Agency.
