On September 26, 2013, John Gonzales pled no contest to unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor less
than 16 years of age, with Gonzales being over 21 years of age. He acknowledged his prior strike
conviction which increases his exposure in prison to four years. He also pled to a mandatory lifetime
registration as a sex offender.
Sentencing for John Gonzales will be October 25, 2013 at 8:30 am.

On 8/1/13 at approximately 1:20 am, the Bakersfield Police Department Career Criminal Apprehension
Team, located and arrested John Gonzales (37) in the 500 block of Goodman Street.
John Gonzales is charged with, Unlawful Sexual Intercourse with a Minor, Lewd and Lascivious Acts with
a Child, failure to comply with sex offender registration, possession of illegal narcotics, resisting arrest,
and violation of parole.
Concepcion Romero (43) of Bakersfield was also arrested and charged as an Accessory, who was
harboring John Gonzales.

The Bakersfield Police Department is continuing to ask for the community’s assistance in locating a
parolee at large.
John Gonzales (37), of Bakersfield, is a registered sex offender who disabled his ankle monitor. Gonzales
has an active parole warrant issued for his arrest. Additionally, a warrant for Gonzales’ arrest has been
issued for Unlawful Sexual Intercourse with a Minor, Lewd and Lascivious Acts with a Child, and for a
failure to comply with his registration requirements as required pursuant to the Sex Offender Registration
Act.
Gonzales is 6’1” tall, and 190 lbs., black hair and brown eyes.
