HomeMy WebLinkAbout13_10_23 Distribution of Meth Arrests 13-159967 BAKERSFIELD POLICE DEPARTMENT PRESS RELEASE Greg Williamson, Chief of Police Contact: Michaela Sims Public Information Office 661-326-3803 msims@bakersfieldpd.us For Immediate Release October 23, 2013 On October 23, 2013, the Bakersfield Police Department Major Violators Unit in conjunction with Drug Enforcement Administration Agents, Kern County Probation and McFarland Police Department culminated a month’s long investigation into the distribution of methamphetamine in the Bakersfield area. As a result of this investigation three search warrants were served in the 300 block of Lloyd Street, the 3000 block of Oliver Street and the 3100 block of Cottonwood Road. The investigation led to the seizure of over 13 lbs. of methamphetamine, $30,000 in United States currency and two firearms. Miguel Marquez, 28, of Bakersfield, was arrested for possession for sales of narcotics, possession of stolen property, armed while in possession, ex- felon in possession of a firearm and conspiracy. Luis Alfonso Mendivil, 21, of Riverside and Jonathen Leyva, 26, of Riverside were both arrested for possession for sales of narcotics and conspiracy.
