On Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at 3:25 pm, Bakersfield Police Officers and Amtrak Police
Officers conducted a drug interdiction operation at the Amtrak Train station located at
601 Truxtun Ave. During the operation officers utilized a police service dog trained in
the detection of narcotics to locate approximately 2.4 pounds of marijuana and $800 in
a passenger’s luggage. The passenger, Daniel Jimenez, 23, of Delhi, California, was
arrested for Possession of Marijuana for Sales and Transportation of Marijuana and
booked into the Kern County Jail.
