The parade is scheduled to begin at 1800 hours. On the map the GREEN is the parade route and YELLOW/ORANGE are staging areas for the floats. There will be Temporary “NO PARKING” signs placed between F – Q Street and 19th Street – 23rd Street. The No Parking will be in effect 1600-2100 hours. The area of 21st – 22nd between H – Eye Street will have NO PARKING from 1000-2100 hours. Cars that are still inside the parade route by 17:00 hours WILL BE TOWED. Vehicles that are not on the parade route but contained within the parade route will NOT be allowed to leave until the parade is finished. The public is encouraged to stay out of the downtown area and to expect heavy congestion in the areas surrounding the parade and should plan accordingly. The downtown area will be impacted from about 1700-2100 hours. You can now send an anonymous text message to the Bakersfield Police Department. It’s quick and it’s easy.
