On November 30, 2013, Bakersfield police officers were dispatched to residence in the
3100 block of Stine Rd. regarding a baby not breathing. When officers arrived they
discovered family members giving CRP to a seven month old infant. Family members
stated the child had been sick for several days when they discovered the baby was not
breathing. The child, Eilena Roberts was transported to an area hospital where she was
pronounced deceased. Early indications at the hospital revealed some injuries to the
child that appeared suspicious.
On December 4, 2013, an autopsy was performed by the Kern County Sheriff’s Office,
Corner’s Division that revealed the infant’s death to be a homicide. Bakersfield Police
Detectives are investigating the circumstances that led to the infant’s death. The
investigation is continuing.
