For Immediate Release January 3, 2014
The Bakersfield Police Department is seeking the community’s assistance identifying
and locating suspect/s wanted for burglary as well as unique items taken in the offense.
On December 26, 2013, between 2:30 am and 11:20 pm unknown suspects broke into
a storage shed located on the premises of Bakersfield Memorial Hospital located at 601
34th St. Once inside the shed the suspect/s removed two train cars, one a coal car and
the other a caboose. The remainder of the train was left behind but positioned in such a
fashion that it appeared the suspects anticipated returning for the rest of it. The train the
cars are missing from are similar to the train depicted in the attached photos. Given the
unique nature and ease of recognition of the loss in this case the police department is
encouraging the public to call in the event they see similar items in their area.
