For Immediate Release January 6, 2014
On January 4, 2014, at 10:57 pm Bakersfield Police Officer Ashley Hageman attempted
to stop a vehicle for traffic violations. The driver of the vehicle, Roniele Delouth, 27, of
Bakersfield, failed to stop the vehicle until he drove to 2600 Chandler Ct. where he and
his passenger, Deo Harris, 29, of Bakersfield, fled from the vehicle on foot into the
apartment complex. When Delouth was fleeing from the vehicle Officer Hageman
observed that Delouth was carrying a firearm in his hand.
Officers chased the suspects into an apartment but the suspects ran through the
apartment and hid in a neighboring apartment rear patio. Officers located the suspects
and they both resisted arrest. A police canine was used to take Delouth into custody.
The firearm was located and Delouth and Harris were arrested for Resisting Arrest,
Participation in a Criminal Street Gang and various weapons charges. Both Delouth and
Harris are AB109 California Prison Realignment probationers.
It was later discovered the apartment the suspects ran through belonged to a family
member of one of the suspects.
