DUI / Driver’s License Checkpoint
On Saturday, February 1, 2014, the Bakersfield Police Department Traffic Enforcement
Detail will be conducting a DUI / Driver’s License Checkpoint in the greater Bakersfield
area.
This DUI / Driver’s License checkpoint is an effort to reduce the number of persons
injured or killed each year in DUI related collisions, as well as insuring that motorists on
city streets are in possession of a valid driver’s license. A major component of DUI
checkpoints is to increase awareness of the dangers of impaired driving and to
encourage sober designated drivers.
