Vehicle vs. Ped Collision 14- BAKERSFIELD POLICE DEPARTMENT PRESS RELEASE Greg Williamson, Chief of Police Contact: Sergeant Joe Grubbs Public Information Officer 661-326-3803 jgrubbs@bakersfieldpd.us For Immediate Release February 5, 2014 On February 4, 2014, Bakersfield police officers were dispatched to a vehicle vs. pedestrian collision that had occurred at White Ln. and Gosford Rd. On arrival they found the pedestrian Adolph Henry 70, of Bakersfield, had been struck as he was crossing the northbound lanes of Gosford Rd. pushing a shopping cart. Henry was transported to Kern Medical Center where he was listed in critical but stable condition. Henry was crossing Gosford Rd. outside of the crosswalk when he was struck by a 2003 GMC pickup. The driver of the pickup was uninjured in the collision. The northbound lanes of Gosford Rd. north of White Ln. were shut down for approximately an hour and a half while officers completed their on-scene investigation.
