On February 7, 2014, the Bakersfield Police Department Joint Vice Task Force (JVTF)
concluded an investigation involving the Oak Lane Liquor store located at 725 Oak
Street. The Bakersfield Police Department JVTF along with Agents from the California
Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) conducted an investigation that led to the arrest of the
store’s owner, Surjit Singh, 55, of Bakersfield, for three (3) counts of Receiving Stolen
Property.
The Bakersfield Police Department JVTF and the California ABC work closely together
and funding for operations similar to this are frequently provided by grants from the
California ABC through the Department’s Grant Assistance Program.
