This DUI / Driver’s License checkpoint is an effort to reduce the number of persons injured or killed each year in DUI related collisions, as well as insuring that motorists on city streets are in possession of a valid driver’s license. A major component of DUI checkpoints is to increase awareness of the dangers of impaired driving and to encourage sober designated drivers. You can now send an anonymous text message to the Bakersfield Police Department. It’s quick and it’s easy. Simply enter 274637 into your phone and text BPDCRIMES along with your message. The text is sent to the police department and the sender remains completely anonymous.
