On Sunday, February 25, 2014 at 0102 hours, Officers responded to 210 Cedar
Street for a medical aid call. Upon officers arrival they located a juvenile victim
unconscious with several injuries. The juvenile victim was transported to a local hospital
with life threatening injuries. The juvenile victim was later transported to Valley Children
Hospital in Madera, California in critical condition. A second juvenile victim was located
at 210 Cedar Street and taken into protective custody. The investigation revealed the
first juvenile victim was suffering from blunt force trauma. The suspects, Virgina
Rodriguez, 34, of Bakersfield and Jesse Brown, 31, of Bakersfield were interviewed and
later booked into the Kern County Jail for felony child abuse charges.
