On 2/27/14 at about 10:05p.m., the Bakersfield Police Department responded to a traffic
collision involving a vehicle and motorcycle at the intersection of Akers Road and Ming
Avenue.
Officers arrived and found a red Mitsubishi sedan had collided with a black Kawasaki
motorcycle. Investigation revealed the driver of the sedan, Isaac Rosete, 22 of
Bakersfield was traveling westbound on Ming Avenue and was turning southbound on
Akers Road. The motorcycle was eastbound on Ming Avenue and collided with the
passenger side of the sedan. The driver of the motorcycle was transported to a local
hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Isaac Rosete remained at the scene and is
cooperating with the investigation. Drugs and alcohol do not appear to have contributed
to this collision however; the investigation is continuing.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is encouraged to call the
Bakersfield Police Department Officer Jared Diederich at 326-3967.
