Investigation revealed, Ruth Keetor 50, of Bakersfield was traveling northbound in a tan Oldsmobile, when for unknown reasons she veered to the right striking a bicyclist, identified as Raymond Chavez 62, also of Bakersfield. Keetor’s vehicle continued until colliding with a Honda Civic parked along the east curb of Akers Rd. Chavez was pinned between Keetor’s vehicle and the Honda. He sustained moderate injuries as a result of the collision and was transported to Kern Medical Center for treatment. Officers determined Keetor was DUI/Drugs at the time of the collision. She was subsequently arrested and booked into the Kern County Jail for Felony Driving Under the Influence- Causing Injury.
