The Bakersfield Police Department is asking for the community’s assistance with
locating a suspect wanted for an assault with a deadly weapon.
On March 19, 2014, at approximately 10:23 p.m., officers of the Bakersfield Police
Department responded to a residence in the 1400 block of Eureka Street for a gunshot
victim. The investigation revealed two victims were walking in the 400 block of Haley
Street when they were approached by the suspect. The suspect fired at the victims,
striking one of the victims as they fled. The victim was transported to a local area
hospital where he is listed in critical condition. The second victim was not injured.
The suspect is described as a: Black male adult, mid 20’s, approximately 6’00”/200lbs,
braids, last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, with a turquoise shirt underneath,
and dark colored jeans.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information regarding this incident is
encouraged to call the Bakersfield Police Department at 327-7111.
