For Immediate Release March 24, 2014
On March 24, 2014, at 8:34 am Bakersfield police officers responded to a residence in
the 1700 block of Fremont St. regarding the call of a baby not breathing. Upon officers’
arrival the infant was being transported to an area hospital by Hall Ambulance
personnel. The two-month old infant was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The
cause of death will be determined by the Kern County Coroner’s Office. As with all
infant deaths, detectives responded and initiated an investigation which is continuing.
