On Thursday, March 27, 2014 at 6:56 p.m. Officers responded to the 200 block of Eye
Street concerning reports of a stabbing, which had just occurred.
On arrival, Officers located Paula Peerboom 45, of Bakersfield, suffering from multiple
stab wounds. She was subsequently transported to a local hospital with non-life
threatening injuries.
Officer located the suspect in the 200 block of Eye Street, identified as Michael Behill
43, also of Bakersfield. Behill was taken into custody without incident and the weapon
used in the assault recovered by Officers. Behill was booked into the Kern County Jail
on charges of Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
The investigation into the motive for the attack is continuing.
