On Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at 6:50 p.m., Bakersfield Police Officers responded to
reports of shots being fired in the area of the 3300 block of Shellmacher Ave.
On arrival officers located Jerome Johnson 24, of Bakersfield, suffering from a single
gunshot wound. Johnson was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening
injuries.
Investigation revealed two Black males, occupying a light colored sedan, drove by the
victim and fired multiple shots. The suspects fled the area in the vehicle in an unknown
direction.
