Grubbs Public Information Office 661-326-3803 jgrubbs@bakersfieldpd.us For Immediate Release April 3, 2014 The City of Bakersfield Animal Control Division would like to invite the community to a low cost rabies vaccination and licensing clinic for their pets. On Saturday, April 5th, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. until noon; the City of Bakersfield Animal Control Division will be offering a low-cost rabies vaccination & licensing clinic as well as FREE microchips (to all currently licensed dogs.) The clinic will be held at Martin Luther King Jr. Park, at 901 E. California Avenue. The rabies vaccinations will be offered at a reduced cost; however the licensing fees are regular price. The rabies vaccine will not be administered without the purchase of a license at the low cost clinics. The electronic microchip effort is a program focused on reducing the number of impounded animals entering the shelter system and is becoming the “preferred” form of animal and owner identification.
