A RESOLUTION DECLARING PROPERTY
SURPLUS TO THE NEEDS OF THE CITY AND
AUTHORIZING THE FINANCE DIRECTOR TO
NEGOTIATE ITS SALE FOR $6,000.
WHEREAS, the City owns 750 bushels of Iron Sponge Media, currently being stored
at Wastewater Treatment Plant #2; and;
WHEREAS, the Iron Sponge is not an acceptable treatment media for the City's
Sulfa-Treat system; and;
WHEREAS, the Kern Sanitation Authority has offered to purchase the Iron Sponge
Media from the City; and;
WHEREAS, the Bakersfield Municipal Code 3.20.125 authorizes the negotiated sale
of City property deemed to be "Surplus";
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
1. The foregoing findings and recitals are true, correct and incorporated herein.
The Iron Sponge Media currently in storage at the City of Bakersfield
Wastewater Treatment Plant #2 is hereby declared surplus to the City's
needs and the Finance Director is authorized to negotiate its sale for $6,000..

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by the
Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting thereof held on
