SUBGRADE PREPARATION: THE CONTRACTOR SHALL FINE GRADE AND COMPACT WHERE THE COMPACTED THICKNESS OF A LAYER OF ASPHALT CONCRETE IS 0.15 FOOT OR LESS, PAVING STREET SUBGRADE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONTRACT PLANS, CITY OPERATIONS SHALL BE CONDUCTED IN SUCH A MANNER THAT, AT THE END OF EACH WORK SHIFT, THE REQUIREMENTS AND STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS. SUBGRADE SHALL BE GRADED LENGTH OF PAVEMENT ALONG THE LONGITUDINAL DROP -OFF BETWEEN ADJACENT LANES IS NOT GREATER TO WITHIN THE CITY TOLERANCES AND COMPACTED TO 95% OF THE MAXIMUM THAN THAT WHICH CAN BE SURFACED DURING THE FOLLOWING SHIFT OF NORMAL PAVING OPERATIONS, DRY DENSITY IN ACCORDANCE WITH ASTM D -1557. ADDITIONAL ASPHALT CONCRETE, SHALL BE PLACED ALONG THE TRANSVERSE DROP -OFFS ON EACH LANE. SUCH ADDITIONAL ASPHALT CONCRETE SHALL BE HAND RAKED AND COMPACTED TO FORM TEMPORARY 17. COMPACTION TESTS SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE DEVELOPER/ CONFORMS BEFORE THE LANES ARE OPENED TO PUBLIC TRAFFIC. KRAFT PAPER, OR OTHER APPROVED SUBDIVIDER /CONTRACTOR. THE NUMBER AND LOCATION OF REQUIRED TESTS BOND BREAKER, MAY BE PLACED UNDER THE CONFORMS TO FACILITATE THE REMOVAL OF THE SHALL BE DETERMINED BY THE CITY ENGINEER.
