THE ALLEY RUNNING EAST- _ E]gLY AND ~STERLY tN BLOCK 200; AND C0NSTRUC TION OF S~,~ERS IN THE f2~LEYS RUNNING EASTERLY AND WESTERLY THROUGH BLOCKS 23?. 235.and 239, TO BE KNOWN AS STREET DISTRICT NO. 76 AND TO ISSUE BONDS IN'PAYMENT THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY 0F B;IELRSFIELD, That it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Bakersfield, to order the followinM work to be done and improvement to be made in the said City, to-wit:' SECTION 1. That A Street from the southerly line of Truxtmu Avenue to the southerly curb line of 17ta Street, and from the northerly curb line of 18th Street to the southerly line of 21st Street be graded; that cement concrete curbs, gutters and sidewalks be constructed to the official line and grade on either side of said street and that the road- way be paved with a three and one-half (3~) inch Willite base and a one and one-half (lb) inca Willite weari~ surface; also SECTION 2. That that potion of A Street lying east of the center line thereof from the northerly line of 17th Street to the southerly line of 18th Street ~e graded; t~at cement concrete curbs, gutters and sidewalks be constructed to the official line and grade alo~ the easterly side of said street and that the easterly half of the raadway or that portion between the gutter and the center line of the street be paved with a three and one-half (~) inca Willite base and a one and one-naif (l~) inca Willite weari~ surface; also SECTION 3. T~at D Street from the northerly curb line of Truxtmu Avenue to the southerly curb line of 21st Street be graded; that cement con- crete curbs, gutters smd sidewalks be constructed to the official line and gra~e on either side of said street and that tne roadway be paved wit~ a three and one-half (~½) inch Willite bmse and a one and one-half (l~) inca Willite weari~ surface; also ~~' -1- SECTION 4. That E Street from the northerly curb line on Truxtun Avenue to the southerly curb line of l?th Street and from the northerly line of 19th Street to the southerly line of 23rd Street be graded; that cement concrete curbs, gutters and sidewalks be constructed to tae officisl line and grade on either side of said street, and that the roadway be paved with a three and one-half (3~) inch Willite base and a one and one- half (l~) inch Willite wearing surface; also SECTION ~. That F Street from the northerly curb line on 19tn Street to the southerly line of 21st Street be graded; that cement concrete curbs, gutters and sidewalks be constructed to the official line and grade on either side of said street and that the roadway be paved with a three and one-half (3~) inch Willite base and a one and one-half (l~}) inch Willite wearin~z surface;aalso SECTION 6. That G Street from the northerly line of Truxtun Avenue to the southerly line of 18tn Street be graded; that cement concrete curbs, g~tters and sidewalks be constructed to the official line and grade on either side of said street, and that bne roadway be paved with a three and one-half (3~) inch Willite base and a one and one-half (1½) inch Willi~e weari~ surface; also SECTION 7. That the alley, runnir~ easterly and westerly in Block 200, from the westerly line of E Street to the easterly line of D Street be graded; t~at cement concrete curbs be constructed to the official line and grade on either sid~ of said alley; that a cement concrete gutter two (2) feet in width be constructed along and one (1) foot on either side of the center line of said alley and t~at those portions lying between gutter and curbs (above described) be paved wit~ a two and one-.~alf (2~) inch Willite base and a one and one-half (l~) inch Willite wearir~M s~rface; Including all intersections of streets and alleys within the limits of the above descriptions, ~d excludi~z therefrom the whole or any portion of streets, alleys, street intersections or alley intersec- tions on wnica pavement, curbs, gutters or sidewalks nave been construc- ted to t~e official line and grade, and excepting also such portions -2- tner~oi~as'are required by law to' be paved, kept in order or repair by any person or company naving~ railroad or car-tracks thereon; also SECTION 8 That cement concrete culverts covered with corrugated iron and provided with cash iron manhole frames, fitted with steel covers be constructed across A .%feet on the southerly line of Truxtun Avenue and across ~. Street on either si~e of 22nd Street; also SECTION 9 That a sanitary sewer of six (6) inch vitrified salt glazed sewer pipe be constructed on and alo~ the center line of the alleys run- nir~ easterly and westerly through Blocks 237, 238 and 239, from a point 20 feet easterly from the easterly line of F Street to a point 20 feet easterly from the easterly line of D Street and across street intersections within the above limits; that a cement concrete man- hole fitted With a cast iron cover be constructed on said sewer at its intersection with the center line of E Street; that a lampnole be constructed on the westerly end of said sewer, and that a "Y" branch be placed in said sewer for each lot in blocks 238 and 239; all of the said work and improvement is to be done in accordance with the plans and specifications heretofore and on the ~ ftay of ~ 1921, adopted by the City Council of the City of Bakersfield, said olans beir~..~, entitled "PLA;~ FOR TME I}~?ROV~NT 07 STREET DISTRICT 76 IN T~.M CITY OF BAKFRSMIELD CALI?.", and said specifications being entitled "SPECIFICATI0~S ~0R T~fE I~PROVE~[ENT OF STREET DISTRICT N0. 76 IN T~,E CITY OF ?;i{ERSFIELD CALIF.", and which said plans and specifications are on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Bakersfield, and are hereby referred to and by such reference made a part and oortion hereof, and in this connection the said plans and specifications also snow the exact location of the aforesaid work and improvement. The paving work aforesaid shall be done to official grades also in accordance with the terms and conditions set forth in the W~llite Plastic Composition License I~ixture ~greement, entered into by said City Coancil with the Califo~ia Willite Road Construction dated ,~, ~0., /~ .... , pe~itting the lay'. Notice is hereby given that serial bonds to represent ~np~id assessments, and bear interest at the rate of seven (7~) per cent per annum will be issued hereunder in the manner provided by t~e Improvement Bond Act of 1915, and all acts ~mendatory thereof, the last installment -~- of which bonds shall mature nine years from the 2nd day of ~aly next succeeding nine months from their date. Except as hereinabove otherwise provided for the is- suance of said serial bonds, all of the herein proposed work shall be done in pursuance of an act of the Legislature of the State of California designated, "The Improvement Act of 1911," approved April 7tn 1911, and all acts amendatory therefor. Notice is nereby given tna~ on Monday the 22nd day of August 1921, at 8 O'clock P.E. at a regular meeting of said City Council in the Council Chambers of said City Council in the City Hall of the City of Bakersfield, any and all persons having any ob- jections to the proposed work or improvement may appear before said City Council and snow cause why said improvement should not be carrt~ out in accordance with said resolution. The City Clerk of said City of Bakersfield shall cause this Resolution of Intention to be published twice in THE BAKERSFIELD G3£IFORNIAN, a daily newspaper printed, published and circulated in said City of Bakersfield, and hereby designated for that purpose by said City Council. The Street Superintendent of said City of Bakersfield shall caus~ to be conspicuously posted along the line of said contem- plated work and improvement and along all the open streets within said district, notice of the passage of this resolution of intention in the manner and form required by law, and in said notice ne shall call attention to the Willite Plastic Composition License Mixture Agreement of the California Willite Road Construction Company of Los Angeles California, of date July 30tn 1921 on file in the office of the City Clerk.
