HomeMy WebLinkAboutROI NO 0411 SO, TION ENTION NO. as follows: RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO OPEN AN ALLEY 25 FEET WIDE ~LONG TNE WESTEltLY END OF THE HIRSHFELD TRACT IN T~E CITY OF BAKERSFIELD BETWE,~I~ THE SOUTItERLY LINE OF BLANCHE STREET AND THE NORTHERLY LINE OF THE ~T,T.E"f RUN- NING EASTERLY ;~D \VESTERLY THROUGH SAID TRACT. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, That it is the intention of the Council of the City of BBakersfield to order the following street work to be done, to-wit: That an alley 25 feet wide be opened along the westerly end of the Nirshfeld Tract in the City of Bakersfield between the southerly line of Blanche Street and the northerly line of the alley running easterly and westerly through said Tract. The lands necessary and convenient to be taken for said purpose are described as follows, to-wit: Beginning at a point in the southerly line of Blanche Street 833 feet westerly from the westerly line o f N Street and running t~ence westerly along the southerly line of Blanche Street 25 feet; thence southerly on a line 858 feet westerly from and parallel to the westerly line of H Street to a point 117 feet southerly from the southerly line of Blanche Street; thence easterly on a line 117 feet southerly from and parallel to the southerly line of Blanche Street a distance of 25 feet; thence northerly on a line 833 feet westerly from and parallel to the westerly line of H Street to the point of beginning. The same being lot 34, Hirshfeld Tract, as shown on that certain map entitled "Map of the Nirshfeld Tract filed for record in the office of t~e County Recorder of Kern County, March 23, 1893." And said Council does hereby determine and declare that said proposed work and improvement is of more than local or ordinary public benefit, and will affect and benefit the lands and district her~ inafter described, and which said district is hereby declared to be the district affected and benefitted by said work and improvement, and that therefore the entire da~es, costs and expenses of said work and impre~v~ -i- men~. shall be and are hereby made chargeable against and shall be assessable upon said lands and district, which district is within the City of Bakersfield, 0ounty of Kern, State of California; and the exter- ior boundaries of the lands affected and benefitted by said work amd improvement are particularly described as follows, to-wit: Beginning at the intersection of the southerly line of Blanche Street with the westerly line of H Street and running thence westerly along the southerly line of Blanche Street 883 feet; thence southerly on a line 883 feet westerly from and parallel to the westerly line of H Street to the northerly line of Orange Street; thence easterly along the northerly line of Orange Street to the westerly line of ~ Street; thence northerly along the westerly line of H Street to the point of beginning; all as shown on that certain map entitled 'Map of tn~ City of Bakersfield,' filed for record in the office of the County Recorder of Kern County, November 2~, 1898. Ail of the herein proposed work shall be done in pursuance of an act of the legislature of the State of California entitled, 'An act to provide for laying out, openir~, extending, widening, straighten- lng or closing up, in whole or in part, any street, square, lane, alley, court or place within municipalities, and to condemm and acctuire any and all land and property necessar7 or convenient for that purpose,' approved Me.rch 6, 1889, and the several acts amendatory thereof or supplemental thereto · "THE BAKERSFIELD CALIFO.qNIAN" is hereby designated as the daily newspaper published and circulated in ~aid City in which the superintendent's notice of the passage of this Resolution snail be published.
