RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO OPEN AN ALLEY 25 FEET TRAOT IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD BETWEEN THE SOUTHERLY LINE 0F BLANCHE STREET AND T~{E NORTh~ERLY LINE 0F Tt~E ALLEY RUNNING EASTERLY AND WESTERLY THROUGH BLOCKS 25, 2~ and 27 OF SAID TRACT. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, as follows: That it is the intention of the Council of the City of Bakersfield to order the following street work to be done, to-wit: That an alley 25 feet wide be opened along the westerly end of Block 27 of the Hirshfeld Tract in the City of Bakersfield between the southerly line of Blanche Street and the northerly line of the alley runni~ easterly and westerly through Blocks 25, 26 and 27 of said Tract. The lands necessary end convenient to be taken for said ourpose are described as follows, to-wit: Beginning at a point in the eouth~rly line of Blanche Street 8~ feet westerly from the westerly line of N Street and running thence westerly along the southerly line of Blanche Street 25 feet; thence southerly on a line 858 feet westerly from and parallel to the westerly line of ~J Street to a point 117 feet southerly from the southerly line of Blanche Street; thence easterly on a line 117 feet southerly from and parallel to the southerly line of Blsnche Street a distance of 25 feet; thence northerly on a line 8~.~ feet westerly from and parallel to the westerly line of H Street to the ooint of beginning. The same being lot 34, Block 27, Hirshfeld Tract, as s~own on ttuat certain map entitled "Map of the Hirshfeld Tract filed for record in the office of the County Recorder of Kern County, March 2~, 189~." And said Council does hereby determine and declare that said proposed work aud improvement is of more tiuan local or ordinary public benefit, and will affect and benefit the lands and district hereinafter described, and which said district is hereby declared to -1- be the district affected and benefitted by said work and improvement, and that therefore the entire d~m~es, costs and expenses of said work and improvement shall be and are hereby m~de chargeable against and shall be assessable upon said lands and district, which district is within the City of Bakerefield. County of Kern, State of Californi~ and the exterior boundaries of the lands affected and benefitted by said work and improvement are particularly described as follows, to-wit Beginning at the intersection of the southerly line of Blanche Street with the westerly line of H Street and runnin~ thence westerly alon~ t~e southerly line of Blanche Street 88~ feet; thence southerly on a line 883 feet westerly from s~d parallel to the westerly line cf P; Street to the northerly line of OrAnge Street; thence easterly alon~ the northerly line of Ors~e Street to the westerly line of Street~ thence northerly aloft, the westerly line of ~ Street to the point of beginning; all as shown on that certain map entitled, 'M~p of the City of Bakersfield.~ filed for record in the office of the County Recorder of Kern County, November 25. 1898. Ail of the herein proposed work snail be done in pursuance cf an act of the legislature of t~e State of California entitled, 'An act to provide for layin~ out. opening, extending, widening, strai~t- ening or closing up, in whole or in part, any street, square, lane, alley, court or place within municipalities, and to conde~m and acquire any and all land and property necesssmy cr convenient for that purpose~ aDproved March 6. 1889, and t~e several acts amendatory thereof er supplemental thereto. "THE B~K~SFIELD CALIFORNIAN~ and the "DAILY REPORT" are hereby designated as the daily newspapers nublished and circulated in said City in which the sunerintendent's notice of the passage of t~is resolution shall be published.
