HomeMy WebLinkAboutROI NO 0406 SOL T ON NTEN ION RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT SEWERS IN A DISTRICT KNOWN AS #SEW]~R DISTRICT NO. 44", IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD. WHEREAS, the public interest and convenience require that the work and improvement hereinafter described sheuld be done; ~nd I~I~EAS, in the opinion of the (~ouncil of the City of Bakersfield, said contemplated work and improvement is, and is hereby declared to be more than local or ordinary public benefit; NOW THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Bakersfield does hereby resolve and declare that it is the intention of said Council to order the following work and improvement to be done in said City, to-wit- To construct an eight-inch sewer of vitrified salt glazed sewer pipe in Dracena Street, beginning at a point 141.78 feet easterly from the easterly line of Willow Street and running thence westerly on a line 21.95 feet southerly from the northerly line of Dracena Street a distance of 991.09 feet; also To construct a six-inch sewer of vitrified salt glazed sewer pipe along the center line of the first alley east of Willow Street, from a point 28.60 feet northerly from the northerly line of Palm Street to a point 50.17 feet southerly from the southerly line of Chester Lane; also along the center line of the first alley east of Cypress Street from a point 28.60 feet northerly from the northerly line of Palm Street to a point 430 feet northerly from the northerly line of Dracena Street; also along a line 20 feet east of the west line of C~press Street from above described sewer line in Dracena Street southerly 600 feet; also along the center line of the first alley east of Olive Street from above described sewer line in Dracena Street northerly ~%51.95 feet; also along a line 25 feet west of the east line of Olive Street from above described sewer line in Dracena Street southerly 600 feet; also along the center line of the first alley west of Olive Street from above described sewer line in Draoena Street northerly 451.95 feet; south of Chester Lane also along the center line of the first alley from the point of intersection of said center -1- line with the center line of the first alley west of Olive Street, asterly 107 feet, and from a point 2] feet easterly from the easterly line of Olive Street to a point 2] feet westerly from the westerly line of Cypress Street, and from a point 2] feet easterly from the easterly line of Cypress Street to above described sewer line in the first alley east of Cypress Street; also along a line 20 feet north of the south line of Chester Lane beginning at a point 108 feet westerly from the westerly line of Willow Street and running thence easterly 236.5 feet to the end of a curve; thence southeasterly along said curve whose radius is 10~.7 feet a distance of 84.27 feet to an existing manhole; al so To construct manholes, lampholes and Y's for house con- nections at certain points as shown on the plans there$'ore, filed in the office of the City Clerk of said City on the //.~.day of ~ 1921, said plan being entitled, 'PLAN FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF SE~ER DIS- TRICT NO. 44 IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, CALIF.', and said specifica*: tions being entitled 'SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF SEWER DIS- TRICT NO. 44 IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, CALIF.', which said plans and specifications were adopted and approved, by the Council of the City of Bakersfield on the . //~.day of . ~cc~. 1921, as the plans and specifications according to which said work shall be done and which are hereby referred to and for a more particular description of said work and improvement. Ail of the herein proposed work ahall be done in pursuance of an act of the Legislature of the State of California designated as "THE IMPROVEMENT ACT OF 1911~ approved April 7th, 1911, and all acts amendatery thereof. And this Council doss hereby determine and declare that said proposed work and improvement is of more than local or ordinary public benefit and will affect and benefit the lands and districts hereinafter described, which said district is hereby declared to be t~e district benefitted by said work and improvement, and that, therefore, the entire costs snd expenses of said work and improvement shall be and is hereby made chargeable against and shall be assessed upon said lands -2- and district ~nich said district is within the City of Bakersfield, County of nern. State of California, and shall be known and called #SE~ DISTRICT NO. 44' and is more particularly bounded and described as follows, to-wit: Beginning at a point in the northerly line of Palm Street 14% feet easterly from the easterly line of Willow Street and running thence northerly on a line 145 feet easterly from and parallel to the easterly line of Willow Street to a point 30 feet southerly from the northerly line of Chester Lane; thence westerly on a line 30 feet southerly from and parallel to the northerly line of Chester Lane to a point 135 feet westerly from the westerly line of Olive Street; thence southerly on a line 13% feet westerly from and parallel to the westerly line of Olive Street 176.26 feet; thence westerly on a line 146.26 feet southerly from and parallel to the southerly line of Chester Lane 12% feet; thence southerly on a line 260 feet westerly from and parallel to the westerly line of Olive Street to its inter- section with the extension westerly of the northerly line of Dracena Street; thence easterly along said extension 125 feet; thence southerly on a line 135 feet westerly from and parallel to the westerly line of Olive Street to the nortluerly line of Palm Street; thence easterly along the northerly line of Palm Street to the point of beginning, all in the City of Bakersfield, California. Notice is hereby given that at 8 o'clock P.M. on Monday ~P~Fz~. _ , ~ . 1921, at the Council Chambers in the City Hall of the City of Bakersfield, is the time and place hereby fixed when and where any and all persons ha~ing objections to the proposed work or improvement may appear before the Council of the ~ity of Bakersfield and show cause why said proposed improvement should not be carried out in accordance with said Resolution. The Clerk of this Council shall cause this Resolution of Intention to be published twice in the 'THE BAKERSFIELD CALIFORNIAN' and 'DAILY REPORT' daily newspapers published in said City and hereby. designated for that purpose by the Council of the City of Bakersfield. -3- The Superintendent of Streets of said City shall cause to be conspicuously posted along the line of said contemplated work or improvement and in front of the property liable to be assessed, and along all the open streets within such districts, notice of the pass~ge of this Resolution of Intention, in the manner and form and within the time required by law.
