RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO I~PROVE THAT QERT_~IN
PORTION OF M STREET FROM THE NORTHERLY LINE OF ~th
STP~ TO THE SOUTHERLY LINE OF 14th STREET, IN THE. CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD, COUNTY OF KERN, STATE OF CALIFORNIA,
TO BE KNOWN AS STREET DISTRICT NO. 71.
as follows:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD,
That it is the intention of the City Council of the City
of Bakersfield to order the following work to be done and improvement
to be m~_de in the said City, to-wit~
That cement concrete curbs and sidewalks be constructed ,
on and along the curb and sidewalk lines on either side of M Street
from the northerly line of 8th Street to the southerly line of 14th
Street (excepting .e~P portions thereof as have already been done to
official line and grade;) all of the aforesaid work and improvement
is to be done in accordance with the plans and specifications hereto-
fore and on the ~/% day of /~~ . .1921,

City Council of the City of Bs~ersfield, said plans being entitled
'PLAN FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF STREET DISTRICT NO. 71 IN THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD, CCALIP.". and said specifications being entitled
"SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF STREET DISTRICT NO. 71 IN THE
CITY OF BAKEHSFIELD, CALIF.", and which said plans and specifications
are on file in the office of the City Clerk of the Oity of Bakersfield
and are hereby referred to and by such reference made a part and por-
tion hereof, and in this connection the said plans and specifications
also s~ow the exact location of the aforesaid work and improvement.
And Whereas, said contemplated work snd improvement, in
the opinionof the said City Council is of more than local or ordiaary
public benefit, said Council hereby makes the expenses of said work
and improvement chargeable upon a district, w~ich district said City
Council hereby declares to be the district benefitted by said work and
improvement and to be assessed to pay the costs and expenses thereof,
and which said district is bounded and described as follows:

Beginning at a point in the northerly line of 8th Street 11%.5
feet easterly from the easterly line of ~ Street and running thence
northerly on a line 11%.% feet easterly from and parallel to the east-
erly line of ~ Street to a point in the northerly line of llth Street;
thence easterly along the northerly line of llth Street 4.5 feet to a
point 120 feet easterly from the easterly line of ~ Street; thence
northerly on a line 120 feet easterly from and parallel to the easterly
line of M-~reet to a point 115.5 feet southerly from the southerly
line of California~ thence easterly on a line 115.5 feet southerly from
and parallel to the southerly line of California Avenue 12 feet to a
point 132 feet easterly

westerly from the westerly line of M Street; thence southerly on a line

of 8t~ Street to the point of beginning, all in the City of Bakersfield.

All of the herein proposed work shall be done in pursuan~
of an act of the Legislature of the State of California, designated the
'Improvement Act of 1911" approved April 7th, 1911, and all acts amend-
aatory thereof.
Notice is hereby given that on ~ionday the ~l/~ay of
~~, 1921, at 8 o'clock P.M. at a regular meeting of said City
Council in the Council Chambers of said City Council in the City Ha~l
of the City of Bakersfield an~ and all persons having any objections to
the proposed work and improvement may appear before said City Council
and show cause why said improvement should not be carried o~tt in
accordance with said Resolution.
The City 01erk of said City of Bakersfield shall cause
this Resolution of Intention to be published twice in the Daily Report
and The Bakersfield California~daily newspapers printed, published and
circulated in said City of Bakersfield, and hereby designated for that
purpose by said City Council.
The Street SuperintenAent of said City of Bakersfield
snail cause to be conspicuously posted along the line of Bald contem-
plated work and improvement and along all the open street~within said
district notices of the passage of this Resolution of Intention in the
manner and form required by law.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution of Inten-
tion was regularly introduced, passed and adopted by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield, at a regular meeting of said Council held on the
