RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO IMPROVE THAT POR-
TION OF 21st STREET TROIv[ THE EASTERLY LINE OF OED~/~

II~ PAYMENT THEREFORE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY TWE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF B~JfERSFIFLD,
That it is the intention of the City Council of ti~e Oity of Bakersfield,
to order the followim~ work to be done ~d improvement to be made in
the said City, to-wit:
That t~at oortion of 21st Street from the easterly line of
Cedar ~treet to the westerly line of H Street, includi~ all inter-
sections of Streets and alleys (excepting~ such portions thereof as aave
already been done to official line end grade; and exceptiRz also such
portions thereof as are required by law to be paved, kept in order or
repair by any person or compsny having railroad or car-tracks taereon; )
be graded smd the sub-base t~nped ~d rolled ~d thereupon paved with
a three and one-half inch Willite base with a one ~d one-~alf inch
Willite wearini[ surface, treat cement concrete curbs and ?;utters be
constructed on eit~,r side of said street ~d that cement concrete
culverts covered with corr~ated iron ~d provided wita cast iron m~e
fr~es, fitted with steel cover~ be constructed, all of t~e aforesaid

of Kern are owned by said Bakersfield Engineeri~ Compady, w~ici~ pro-
posal is also on file in +~ae office of said City Clerk and is hereby
referred to, and the mixture of said pavin~ work will be required bo b~
procared of said Bakersfield Engineering Company as provided in said
Proposal.

the opinion of said City Com~cil, is of more taau local and ordinary
pmblic benefit said Council hereby makes the exoense of said work and
improvement caargeable upon a district benefitted oy said work and
improvement and to be assessed to pay t~e eosts and expenses taereof

Notice is aereby given that serial bonds to represent
paid assessments, and bear interest at the rate of seven (TTo) per cent
per enn~m will be issued hereunder in the ~anner provided by the Im-
provement Bond Act of 191~, au_c~ all acts s~aandatory thereof, trle last
installment of which bonds snail mature nine years from t/is 2nd day of
July next succeedir~g nine mont.~ls from their date.
Except ss nereinabove otherwise provided for t,,~
of said serial bonds ail of the' herein proposed work snail be done in
pursaance of s~ Act of the Legislature of the State of California, desi-
gnated tae Improvement ~.ct of 1911, ~.pproved April 7, 1911, and all
acts mnend~tory taereof.

and The Bakersfield Californian, daily newsi~oa~0ers printed, publisaed
and circulated in said City of Bakersfield, and hereby desig~nRted for
t~at purpose by said Citi!J Council.
