HomeMy WebLinkAboutROI NO 0392RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO IMPROVE CERTAIN PORTIONS OF Q STREET. IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, COUNTY OF KERN. STATE 0~CALIFORNIA, TO BE ~0WN AS STREET DISTRICT NO. ~.. BE IT RESOLVEDBY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF B~KERSFIELD, That i~is the intention of the City Council of the City of Bakersfield to order the following work to be done and improvement to be made in the said. City to-wit: That cement concrete sidewalks be constructed on either side of Q Street from the southerly line of Nineteenth Street to the northerly curb line of Eighteenth Street, also on the westerly side of Q Street from the southerly curb line on Eighteenth Street to the northerly curb line on Seventeenth Street, cement con~rete curbs be constructed ak the intersections of the alleys in'Blocks 252 and 267 with Q Street, and that a six inch cement concrete pave- ment be constructed at said alley intersections between the gutter line and the westerly ~roperty line of Q Street, (excepting such portions thereof as have already been done to official line and grade;) all of the aforesaid work and improvement is to be done in accordance with the plans and specifications heretofore and on the~'~'~ay of ~ . 1920, adopted by the City Council of the City of Bakersfield, said plans bein~ entitled 'PLAN FOR THE IMPROVE~ENT OF STREET DISTRICT NO. 64 IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, CALIF.', and said specifications being entitled 'SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF CEMENT CONCRETE CURBS, SIDEWALKS AND PAVE~'~ENT IN STREET DISTRICT NO. 64 IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, CALIF.", and .which said plans and specifications are on file in the office of theCity Clerk of the City of Bakersfield, and are hereby referred to and by such reference made a part and oortion hereof, and in t~is connection the said plans and specifications also show the exact location of the aforesaid work and improvement. -1- And Whereas, said contemplated work and improvement, in the opinion of the said City Council is of more than local or ordinary public benefit, said Council hereby makes the expense of said work and improvement chargeable upon a district, which district said City Council hereby decls~res to be the district benefitted by said. work and improvement and to be assessed to pay the costs and expenses thereof, and which said district is bounded and described as follows: Beginning at the southeasterly corner of Block 267 and running thence along the projection southerly of the westerly line of Q Street a distance of 14.5 feet; thence easterly at right am~Mles a distance of 14.5 feet; thence northerly along a line parallel to and 14.5 feet distant easterly from the westerly line of Q Street to its intersection with a line parallel to and 14.5 feet distant southerly from the northerly line of Eighteenth Street; thence easterly along said line 14.5 feet southerly from and parallel to the northerly line of E~hteenth Street to its intersection with tae projection southerly of the easterly line of Q Street; thence nortaerly along said projection to the southwesterly corner of Block 253; thence easterly along the northerly line of Eighteenth Street 132 feet; thence northerly along a line parallel to and 132 feet distant easterly from the easterly line of Q Street to the southerly line of Nineteenta Street~ thence · westerly along the southerly line of Nineteenth Street to a point 305.33 feet westerly from the westerly line of Q Street; thence south- erly alo~ a line parallel to and 305.33 feet; distant westerly from the westerly line of Q Street to the northerly line of Seventeenth Street; thence easterly alo~ the northerly line of ~eventeenth ~treet 305.33 feet to the ooint of beginnings. Notice is hereby given that on Monday the ! ~ day of ~ , 1920, at 8 o'clock P.M. at the regular meeting of said City Council in the Council Chambers of said City Council in t~e City Hall of the City of Bakersfield, any and all persons having any object' ions to the proposed wori~ or improvement rosy appear before said City Council and snow cause way said proposed improvement snoald not be -2- carried Out in accordance with said Resolution. The City Clerk of said City of Bakersfield shall cause this Resolution of Intention to be published twice in the DAILY REPORT · t and T~,E BAKERS?!ELD CALI~R~IAN, daily newspapers prln ed, published and circulated in said City of Bakersfield, and hereby designated for that purpose by said City Council. The Street Superintendent of said City of Bakersfield shall cause to be conspicuously posted aloft? the lines of said con- templated work and improvement and along all the open streets within said district notices of the passage of this Resolution of Intention t.~e manner and form reqaired by law. All of the ~erein proposed work shall be done in pursuance of an act of t~e Legislature of the State of California, designated t~e '%mprovement Act of 1911" approved April 7, 1911, and all acts amendatory tnereof.
