as follows:
That it is the intention of the City ~ouncil of the Oity of
Bakersfield to order the following work to be done and improvement
to be made in the said City, to-wit:
That cement concrete curbs and sidewalks be constructed to the
official line and grade on the easterly side of Chester Avenue from
the northerly line of 24tn Street to the southerly right of way line
of the Southern Pacific Company; also
That cement concrete curbs and sidewalks be constructed to the
official line andgrade on the westerly side of Chester Avenue
from the r_ortnerly lire of 24tn Street. northerly a distance of
4~6 feet. and from a line 107 feet northerly from and parallel to the
northerly line of 30tn Street. northerly to the southerly right of
way line of the Southern Pacific Company;
Including all intersections of streets and alleys within the
limits of the above descriptions and excluding therefrom the wnole
or any portion of streets, street intersections or alley intersec-
tions on which curbs and sidewalks nave been constructed to the
official line and grade and excepting also SUCh portions thereof as
are required by law to be paved, kept in order or repair by any per-
son or company raving railroad or car tracks thereon.
All of said work and improvement is to be done in accordance
with the olans and specifications heretofore and on the ~ day of

Bakersfield, said plans being entitled "PLAW FOR T~E IMPROVE~ENT OF

and ~icn said plans and specifications ~e on file in the office of
the City Clerk of the City of B~ersfield, and are hereby referred
to a~d by SUCh reference made a part ~nd ~rtion hereof, and in t~is
connection the said plans and specifications also snow the exact
location of the aforesaid work and improv~ent.
A~ Whereas, said o~emplated work and improv~ent, in the
opinion of the said City Council is of ~re than loc~ or ordin~
public benefit, said Council hereby m~es tne expense of said work
and improvement chargeable upon a district, which district said City
0euncil hereby declares to be the district benefitted by said work
a~ improvement ~ to be assessed to pay the costs and expenses

Ail of the herein proposed work shall be done ir. pursuance of
an act of the ~,e~islat~re of the State of California, designated the
"Improvement ACt of 1911# approved April 7tn, 1911, and all acts
amendatory tnereof.
' Notice is hereby given that on ~onSay the >7 ,~/~iay of
1922, at 8 o'clock P.N. at the regular meeting of said City Council
in the Council Cnsmbers of said City Council in the City Hall of the
City of BakersField, any and all persons navin~ any objections to tne
proposed work or improvement may appear before said City Council
and snow cause why said proposed improvement saould not be carried
out in accordance with said Resolution.
The City Clerk of said City of Bakersfield snail cause this
Resolution of Intention to be published twice in the TI~E BAKERSFIELD
CALIFOR~'IAN, a daily newspaper printed, published and circulated in
said City of Bakersfield, and hereby designated for that purpose by
said City Council.
The Street Superintendent of the City of Bakersfield shall
cause to be conspicuously posted along the lines of said contemplated
work and improvement and along all the open streets within said
district notices of the passage of this Resolution of Intention in
the manner and form required by law.
I ~BY cERTIfY that the foregoing Resolution of Intention
was duly and regularly introduced, passed and adopted by the City
Council of the City of Bakersfield, at a regular meeting of said City
