BE IT RESOLVED BY T~E COU~CIL OF T~E CITY OF B~XEHSFIELD,
as follows:
That it i~ the intention of the City Council of the City of
Bakersfield to order the following work to be dore and improvement to
be made ir the said City, to-wit:
Taat cement concrete curbs and sidewalks be constructed to the
official line and grade o~ tae followir~ rame~ streets:
0r either side of M Street from the northerly lire of 8tn
Street to the soutaerly line of l~tn Street; also
0r either si~e of L Street from the northerly lire of 4tn
Street t'o the southerly lire of California Avenue; also
On either side of K Street from the northerly li~e of 4tn
Street to the southerly li~e of California's. venue; also
On either s~de of ~tn Street from the easterly li~e of Chester
Avenue to the westerly line of L Street; also
0r either si~e of 6tn Street from the easterly lire of Chester
Avenue to tne westerly lire of L Street; also
0~ either side of ?tn Street from the easterly lire of Chester
Avenue to the westerly lire of L Street; also
0~ either side of 9tn Street from the easterly line of Chester
Avenue to tae westerly line cfm Street; also
On either side of lOt~ ~treet from the easterly lire of Cneste?
Avenue to the westerly lire of ~;~ ~treet; also
On either side of lltn Street from the easterly lire of
Chester Avenue to the westerly lire ofl~[ Street; also

Inctudirg,.~, all intersections of streets and alleys within the
limits of the above descriptions a~d excluding therefrom the waole or
any portion of streets, street intersections or alley intersections on

which curbs and sidewalks nave been constructed to the official line' and
grade and excepting also such portions thereof as are required by law
to be paved, kept in order or repair by any person or company having
railroad or car tracks thereon.
All of the aforesaid work and improvement is to be done in
accordance with ~ne plans and specifications neretofor~ and~ on the
}~O~ay of ~--~. 1922, adopted by the ~ity Council of the City
of B~kersfield, said plans being, entitled "PLA~V FOR TV I,~PROVF~E~
OF STREET DISTRICT ~0. Yvg3~ I~? THE CITY OF B~X~i~ELD, CALIF.",
and said specifications being., entitled "SPECIFICATI0~S FOR THE
I]~PROVEME~T OF STREE~ DISTRICT ~'0.~-~ IN T~E CITY OF B~J{EtT3FIELD, CALIF".,
on
a~d which said plans and specificatior~ ars/file in the office of the
City Clerk of t~e City of B~ersfield, and are hereby referred ~o and
by SUCh reference made a part and portion hereof, and in this connection
the said plans and specifications also snow the exact location of the
aforesaid work and improvement.
And Whereas, said contemplated work and improvement, in the
opinion of the said City Council is of more than local or ordinary
pmblic benefit, said Council hereby makes the expense of said work and
improvement chargeable ~pon a district, which district said Gity
Council hereby declares to be the district benefitted by said work and
improvement and to be assessed to pay the costs and expenses thereof,
e~nd which said district is bounded and described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the northerly line of ¢tn Street 1~2
feet easterly from the easterly line of L Street and running thence
northerly on a line 1.~2 feet easterly from and parallel to the easterly
line of L Street to t~e northerly line of 8tn ~treet; thence easterly
along the northerly li~e of 8tn Street to a point ll~.~ feet easterly
from the easterly line of N Street; thence northerly on a line ll~.~
feet easterly from a~d parallel to the easterly line of ~ Street to the
northerly line of lltn Street; thence easterly along the northerly line
of lltn Street 4.5 feet; thence ~ortnerly on a line 120 feet easterly
from and parallel to the easterly line of ~i Street to a point 11~.~

easterly on a line 115.~ feet southerly from and parallel to the south-
erly line of California Avenue 12 feet; thence northerly on a line

Bakersfield, California.
All of the herein proposed work shall be done in pursuance of
an act of the Legislature of the ~tate of California, designated
"Improvement Act of 1pll" approved April 7tn, 1911, and all acts
ame~datory tnereof.
~otice is hereby ~ven that on ~onday tne/~ day of Narcn
1922, at 8 o'clock P.M. at the reg:~.ular m~etirg~ of said City Council in
the Council Cnam~oer~ o~ s. aid City Council in t~e City Nall of the City
of B~ersfield, any and all persons having any objections to the
proposed work or .~:~?ovement may appear before said City Council
and snow cause why said proposed improvement should rot be carried out
in accordance with ~aid Resolution.
The City Clerk of said City of Bakersfield s~all cause this
Resolution of Intention to be published twice ir the The Bakersfield
Californian, a daily newspaper printed, published and circulated in
said City of B~kersfield, and hereby designated for that pur~se by
said City Council.
The ~treet ~uperintendert of the City of Bakersfield shall
cause to be conspicuously posted alorg~:~ the lines of said contemplated
work and improvement and along~ all the open streets within said
district ~.otices of the passage of this Resolution of Intention in the
manner and form required by law.
I HFREBY ~ERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution of Intention
was duly and regularly introduced, passed and adopted by the City Council
of the City of Bakersfield, at a~regular meeting~ of said City
Council held on tne~g~ay o~, 1922, by the followir~o vote:
