IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD. UALTFOR~'IA, A~U~ TO ISSUE BONDS IN PAY~T TMEREFOR, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COU~CIL OF TWE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, That it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Bakersfield to order the following work to be done and improvement to be made in the said City, to-wit: That Kentucky Street be graded, between the existing official curbs thereon, from the easterly line of Baker street to the westerly line of Gage Street; that cement concrete gutters be constructed on either side of the roadway and that said roadway be paved with a three and one-~alf (~) inch Aspna]~ Concrete base and a one and one-half (l~) inch Warrenite-Bitulitnic wearing surface, Including all intersection of sSreets within the limits of the above description and excluding therefrom any oortione on which psvement or gutters nave been constructed to the official lire and grade, and · ,~,by law excepting.~ also suc~ portions thereof as are re~qu~rec/~o be paved, kept in order or repair by any person or company raving railroad or car tracks thereon. Also that cement co~crete culverts covered with corrugated iron be constructed across Kentucky Street at its intersection with Kine Street and Beale Avenue. All of said work and improvement is to be done in accordance with the plans and specifications heretofore and on the ~ .day of ~ . 1922, adopted b'y the City Council .! of the City of ~akersfield, said plans being entitled "PLAN FOR TH~ ~MPROV~,~'~T OF STREET DISTRICT NO.~3,~ IN THE CITY OF FIELD, CALIF.", reel said specifications bei~ entitled 'SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE IMPROVE~E~'T OF STREET DISTRICT $~0. %L~ I~~ THE CITY 0E B~XERSFIELD, CALIF.", and which said plans srd specification are -1- on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Bakersfield, and are hereby referred to and by such reference made a part and portion hereof, and in this connection the said plans and specifica- snow the exact location of the aforesaid work and improve- tions also mont. The paving work aforesaid shall be done also in accord- anco with the terms un,conditions setfortn in the Warrenite-Bitulitnic License MiXture ~greement, entered.~into by said City Council with the Warren Brotners Company, dated_.~/~ /.f~ /~-~2/ permitting the laying of a pavem~t for wni~n Un,ted States Letters Patent are held by said Company, which Warrenite-Bitulitnic License Mixture Agreement is also on file in the office of said City Clerk and is hereby referred to; and the wearing surface mixture of said paving work will be required to be procured o f said Warren Brothers Company as provided in said Warrenite-Bitulitnic License ~ixture Agreement. And Whereas, said contemplated work and improvement, in the opinion of said City Council, is ofmore than local or ordinary public benefit, said Council hereby makes the expense of said work and improvement chargeable upon a district, which district said City Council hereby declares to be the district benefitted by said work and improvement and to be assessed to pay the costs and expenses and which said district is bounded and described as tn oreo f, fo llows: Beginning at a point in the easterly line of Baker Street 150 feet northerly from the northerly line of Kentucky Street and running thence easterly on a line 150 feet northerly from and parallel to the northerly line of Kentucky Street to the westerly lire of Gage Street; thence southerly along the westerly line of Gage Street and the extension southerly thereof to a point 150 feet southerly from the southerly lin~ of Kentucky Street; thence westerly or a line o150 feet southerly from and parallel to the southerly line of Kentucky Street to the easterly line of Baker Street; thence norther- ly along the easterly line of Baker Street to the point of beginning. All in the City of Bakersfield, California. The City Council also determines and declares that serial bonds shall be issued under The Improvement Act of 1911, to represent eaen assessment of twenty-five dollars or more remaining unpaid for thirty days after the date of the warrant, or five days after the d~cision of' said Council upon an appeal, to represent the expenses of said work and improvement. .gaid serial bonds shall extend over a period not to exceed nine years from t~ second day of January next succeeding their date, and an even annual proportion of the principal sum thereof shall be payable, by coupon, on the second day of January every year after their date, Lxntil the whole is paid; and the interest shall be payable semi-annually, by coupon, on the second days of January and July, res- pectively, of each year, at the rate of seven per cent (7~) per annum on all sums unpaid, until the whole of said principal and interest are All of the herein proposed work shall be done in pursuance of an act of the Legislature of the State of California, designated the "Improvement Act of 1911," approved ;~pril 7, 1911, and all acts smenda- t~ry tn ereo f. ~otice is hereby given that on Monday the ~7~ay of ~'/{~ , 1922, at 8 o'clock P.M. at the regular meeting of the said City Council ir the Council Chambers of said City Council in the City ~{all of the City of Bakersfield, any and all persons na$irg~ any objections to the proposed work or improvement may appear before said City Council and snow cause why said proposed improvement should not~ be carried, out in accordance with said Resolution. The City Clerk of said City of Bakersfield shall caase this Resolution of Intention to be published twice in THE B~d{ERSFIELD C;~LIFOP'IA;~, a daily newspaper printed, published and circulated in said City of Bakersfield, and hereby designated for that purpose by said City Council.
