RESOLUTION OF I5TE~TION TO IMPROVE
THE ALLEYS IN BLOCKS 206, 195, 165
and 154 IN A DISTRICT TO BE KNOWN
AS 'STREET DISTRICT NO.~Dg' IN
THE. CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, L~RNIA.
AND TO ISSUE BONDS IT PAYMES~ T.JE.~REFOR.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD,
That it is the intention of the City Council of the City of
Bakersfield to order the following ~ork to be done and improvement
to be made ir the said City, to-wit:
SECTION 1 That the alley in Block 206 from the northerly line of 20tn
Street to the southerly line of 21st Street, and for the full width
of said alley be graded and that a pavement of cement concrete, five
(5) inches in thickness be laid thereon;
~ECTION 2. That the alley in Block 195 from the easterly line of I
Street to the westerly line of Chester Avenue, and for the full width,
of said alley, be graded, and that a pavement of cement concrete, five
(5) inches in thickness be laid thereon;
SECTION 3. That the alley in Block 165 from the rortnerly line of 22nd
Street to a line 113.4 feet southerly from and parallel to the southerly
line of 23rd Street, and for the full w~dtn of said alley be graded,
a~d that a pavement of cement concrete five (5) inches in thickness
be laid taereon;
SECTION 4. That the alley in Block 154 from the northerly line of 23rd
Street to the southerly line of 24tn Street, and for the full width ef
said alley, be ,zraded and that a pavement of cement concrete, five (5)
inches in thickness be laid thereon;
The Blocks herein above mentioned are shown on the l~ap
of the City of Bakersfield, filed in the office of the County Recorder
sf Kern County, November 2~tn, 1898.
Excepting such portions thereof wnica nave already been paved
to the officia~line and grade~ '-All of the aforesaid work and improvem
ment is to be done in accordance with t~e plans and specifications
heretofore_ xnd.on the _~__day of , 1922, adooted by
the C~ty Council of the City of Bakersfield, said plans beingo entitled

'SPECIFICATIO~S FOR THE I~PROV~E~'T OF STREET DISTRICT ~0. AA34~- , IN
THE CITY OF BA~(ER°FIkJ~D, CALIF..", and which said plans and specifications
are on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Bakersfield,
and are aereby referred to and by such reference made a part and portion
hereof, and in this connection the said plans and specifications also
snow the exact location of the aforesaid work and improvement.
And Whereas, said contemplated work and improvement, in the
opinion of said City Council, is of more than local or ordinary public
benefit, said Council hereby makes the expense of said w6rk and improve-
ment Chargeable upon a district, WhiCh district said City Council hereby
declsres to be the district benefitted by said work and improvement
and to be assessed to pay the costs and expenses thereof, and which
said district is bounded and described as follows:
Beginnir~ at the intersection of the southerly line of 24tn
Street with tn$ easterly line of I Street and running thence southerly
along the easterly line of I Street to the southerly line of 21st
Street; thence easterly along the southerly line of 21st ~treet to
the easterly line of Chester Avenue; thence southerly along the easterly
line of Chester Avenue to the northerly line o f 20tn Street; thence
easterly alo~ the northerly line of 20tn Street to the westerly line
of K Street; thence northerly along the westerly line of K Street to
the northerly line of 21st Street; thence westerly along the nortnerl~
line of 21st Street to the westerly line of Chester Avenue; thence
northerly alorg.~ the westerly line of Chester Avenue to the southerly
line of 24tn Street; thence westerly along the southerly line of 24~n
Street to the point of beginning, a All in the City of ~akersfield,

Notice is hereby given that serial bonds to ~epresent unpaid
assessments, and bear interest at the rate of seven (7~) per cent per
annum will be issued hereunder in the manner provided by the Improvement

Bond Act of 1915, and all acts amendatory thereof, the last installment
of which bonds shall mature four years from the 2nd day of July next
succeeding nine months from tn~r date.
Emcept as nereinabove otherwise provided for the issuance
of said serial bonds all of the herein proposed work shall be done
in pursuance of an act of the legislature of the State of California,
designated, "The Improvement Act of 1911" approved April 7tn, 1911,
and all acts amendatory thereof.

said City Council, in the Council Chambers of said City Council in
the City ~,all of the City of Bakersfield, any and all persons having
a~y objections to the proposed work or improvement may appear before
said City Council and snow cause why said proposed improvement Should
not be carried out in accordance with said Resolution.
The City Clerk of'said City of Bakersfield snell cause
this Resolution of Intention to be published twice in The Bakersfield
Californian, a daily newl~paper printed, published and circulated in
said City of Bakersfield, and hereby designated for that purpose
by said City Council.
The Street superintendent of the City of Bakersfield
shall cause to be conspicuously posted alone the lines of said contem-
plated work and improvement and along all the open streets within said
district notice of the passage of this Resolution of Intention in
the manner and form required by law.
I HEREBY CERTI~ that the foregoing Resolution of Intention
was regularly introduced, passed and adopted by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield, at a regular meetirg of said Council held on the
