RESOLUTION OF INTEJTION TO IMPROVE THAT
PORTION OF SPRUCE STREET FROM A LI~3
FEET SOL~H]ARLY FROMT~,E NORTHERLY LI~
OF 19tn STREET TO THE SOUTHERLY LI~ OF

as follows:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF Tt~ CITY OF BAKERSFIEE~
That it is the intention of the City Council of
the City of Bakersfield to order the following work to be done and
improvement to be made in the said Citz to-wit:
That cement concrete curbs, and sidewalks be constructed
to the official line and grade on either side of Spruce Street from
a line ~ feet southerly from the northerly line of 19tn Street to
the southerly line of 20tn Street, including all intersections of
streets and alleys and excluding nerefrom such portions on w~icn
curbs and sidewalks nave beer constructed to the official line and
grade.
All of the aforesaid work and improvement is to be done
in accordance with the plans and specifications heretofore and
an the %~u day of ~, 1921, adopted by the City
Council of the City of Bakersfield, said plans ~eirg entitled 'PLAN
FOR THE IMPROV~E~T OF STREET DISTRICT NO. 8S IN THE CITY OF BAKERS-
WIELD CALIF. ", and said specifications being entitled "SPECIFICATION
FOR T~E IMPROV~ENT 0P STREET DISTRICT NO. 8~ IN THE CITY OF BAKERS-
.FIELD CALIF.", and which said plans and specifications are on filed
in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Bakersfield, and are
hereby referred to and by such reference made a part and portion
hereof, and in this connection the said plsns and specifications
also snow the exact location of the aforesaid work and improvement.

A~q] WHEREAS, said contemplated work and improvement, in
the opinion of the said City Council is of more than local or ordi-
nary public benefit, said Council hereby makes the expense of said
work and improvement cnargeable u~n a district, which district said
City Council hereby declares to be the district benefitted by said
work and improvement and to be assessed to pay the costs and expenses
thereof, and WhiCh said district is bounded and d~scribed as follows:
Beginning at a point in the sOUtherly line of 20tn Street
132 feet westerly from the westerly line of Spruce Street and running
thence southerly on a line 132 feet westerly from and parallel to tae
westerly line of Spruce Street to a point 3 feet southerly from the
northerly line of l~;tn Street; tnence easterly on a line 3 feet
southerly from and parallel to the ncrtnerly line of 19tn Street to
a point 132 feet easterly from the easterly line of Spruce Street;
thence northerly on a line 132 feet easterly from and parallel to the
easterly line of Spruce Street to the southerly line of 20tn Street;
thence westerly along the sOUtherly line of 20tn Street to tne point
of beginning~ all in the City of Bakersfield, California.
Ail of the herein proposed work snail be done in pur-
suanc~ of an act of tne Legislature of the State of California, desi-
gnated tne 'Improvement Act of 1~;11' approved April 7tn, 1911, and
all acts amendatory thereof.

having any objections to tne proposed work or improvement may appear
before said City Council and snow cause why said proposed improve-
mort Should not be carried out in accordance with said Resolution.
The City Clerk of said City of Bakersfield snail cause
this Resolution of Intention to be published twice in tne THE BAKERS-
FIELD CALIFOR~IA, a daily newspaper printe$, published and circulated
~n said City of Bakersfield, and hereby designated for that purpose
by said City Council.

The Street Superintendent of the City of iBakersfield
shall cause to be conspicuously posted alor~.~ the lines of said
contemplated work and improvement ard alorg all the open streets with
in said district notices of the passage of this Resolution of Inten-
tion in the manner ard form required by law.
I HEREBY CERTIFf that the foregoirg Resolution of Inten-
tion was duly and regularly introduced., p~ssed and ~dopted by the
