WW, EREA$, the public interest and convenience require
that the work and improvement hereinafter described should be done;
and
;,~EREAS, in the opinion of the Council of the City of
Bakersfield, said contemplated work and improvement is, and is
hereby declared to be more than local or ordinary public benefit;
~'0W THEREFORE, the Council of t~e City of Bakersfield
~oes hereby resolve ~nd declare that it is the intention of said
Council to order the followir~ work and improvement to be done in
said City, to-wit:
To construct a six (6) iron sewer of vitrified salt
glazed sewer pipe on and alo~ the center line of tae alley runniwg
easterly and westerly tnroug~n blocks 217, 218, 219, 220 ~rd 221
in the City of Bakersfield in that portion formerly known as Kern,
from a point 31,7~ feet easterly from the westerly line of Beale
Avenue to a point 15 feet easterly from the easterly line of Baker
Street and from a point 1~ feet westerly from the westerly line
of Baker Street to a point 1~ feet easterly from the easterly line
of Inyo Street; also to construct maraoles and lampnoles on said
sewer at certain points as shown on the plans and to place Y branches
in said sewer for rouse connections for each and every lot and par-
cel of land in the District&
All of said work a~d improvement is to be done in
accordance wit~ the plans and specifications heretofore and on the
/,7~-~day of ~, 1921,adopted by the City Council
of the City of Bakersfield, said plans being~ entitled 'PLAN FOR THE
I~PR0¥EME~T OF SE~ER DIBTRICT ~0. 48 IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIFLD,

CALIF.', and said specifications being entitled "SPECIFICATIONS
FOR THE IMPROVEME}~r 0F SEWER DISTRICT NO. 48 IN THE CITY 0F B~J{ERS-
FIELD, CALIF.', and which said plans and specifications are on file
in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Bakersfield, and are
hereby referred to and by SUCh reference made a part and portion
hereof, and in ~tnis connections tne said plans and specifications
also snow the exact location of the aforesaid work and improvement.
Ail of the nerein proposed work shall be done in pur-
suance of an act of the Legislature of the State of California
designated as "THE IMPROVEM~T ACT OF 1911' approved April 7tn, 1911,
and all acts amendatory thereof.
And 'this Oouncil does hereby determine and declare that
the said proposed work and improvement is of more than local or
ordinary public benefit and will affect and benefit the ~ands and
districts hereinafter described, wnicn said district is hereby
declared to be the district benefitted by said work and improvement,
and that, %nerefore, the entire costs and expenses of said work and
improvement snail be and is hereby made chargeable sgainst and snail
be assessed upon said lands and district wnicn said district is
within the City of Bakersfield, County of Kern, State of California,
and snail be known and called "SEWER DISTRICT K~NO. 48" and is more
particularly bounded and described as follows, to-wit:
Beginning at the intersection of the northerly line of
0nico Street with the easterly line of Beale Avenue and ~unni~g
thence northerly aiorg~ the easterly line of BeaieAvenue to the
southerly line of Dolores Street; thence westerly along tne soutaerly
line of Dolores Street to the easterly line of Inyo Street; thence
southerly along the easterly line of Inyo Street to tne northerly
line of Chico Street; thence easterly along the northerly line of
Chico Street to the easterly line of Beale AvenGe and the'point of
beginning, all in the City of Bakersfield, and in that portion
formerly known as Kern. ~
Notice is hereby given that at 8 o'clock P.M. on

1 of the City of Bakersfield, is the time and place hereby fixed
when and where any ard all persons having objections to the proposed
work or improvement may appear before the Council of the City of
Bakersfield ard snow cause why said proposed improvement should not
be carried out in accordance with said Resolution.
The Clerk of this Council shall cause this Resolution of
Intention to be published twice in THE BAKERSFIELD CALIMDR~qA~' -'
a daily newspaper published in said City ard hereby Designated f~
that purpose l~y the Council af the City of Bakersfield.
The Superintendent of Streets of said City snail cause
to be' conspicuously posted alorg the lines of said contemplated work
or improvement and in front of' the property liable to be assessed,
and along all the open streets within such district, notice of the
passage of this Resolution of Interfoion, in the manner and form amti
within the time req,,ired by law.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoirg Resolution was a
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield on
