RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO L~PROVE THAT
PORTION OF PARtC#~Y FROM THE ~STFi~LY
LI~rE OF OLEANDER AVE~E TO T~rE EASTERLY
LINE OF C STREET. IN THE CITY OF B~ERSFIELD,
COUNTY OF KFRN, STATE OF CALI~-~RNIA, IN
A DISTRICT TO BE KNO~~ AS "STREET DISTRICT

BE IT RESOLVED BY T~r.E COUNCIL OF TEE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD,
Follows:
~nat it is the intention of the City C~uncil of the City of Bakers-
field to order the followirg~ work to be done and improvement to be
made in said City, to-wit:
That Parkway between the existing official curbs
thereon, from the westerly lire of Oleander Avenue to the easterly
lire of C Street be graded; that cement concrete gutters be con-
stnucted on either side of the roadway and that the roadway be
surfaced with an oil and screening wear~nz surface; including all
intersections of streets and alleys within the limits of the above
description and excludir~ therefrom such portions of said street on
which gutters or pavement nas beer corstrmcted to the official line
~,~ grade.
Ail of said work ard improvement is to be dore ir
accordance with the plans and specifications heretofore ard or the

the office of tae City Clerk of tae City of Bakersfield, and are
hereby referred to ard by such refererce made a p~rt and portior
hereof, and in t~ais connectior, the said plans and specifications
also snow the exact location of the aforesaid work and improvement.
AND W~EREAS, said contemplated work ard improvement, in

the opinion of said City CCouncil is of more taan local or ordinary
public benefit, said council aereby makes the expense of said work
and improvement chargeable upon a district, which ~istrict said City
Council nereby de~lares to be the district benefitted by said work
and improveo~ent and to be assessed to pay the costs and expenses
thereof, ~nd which said district is bounded and ~escribed as follows:
Beginning at a point in the westerly line of Oleander
Avenue 108.22 feet northerly from the northerly line of Parkway and
runni~ thence westerly on a line 108.22 feet northerly from and
parallel to the northerly line of Park way to a point 121.47 feet
easterly from the easterly line of C Street; thence southerly on a
line 121.47 feet easterly from and parallel to the easterly line, of
C Street 18.22 feet; taence westerly on a line 90 feet northerly
from and parallel to the northerly line of Parkway to ~e easterly
line of C Street; thence southerly alor~z the easterly line of C

Street to a point-/ feet southerly from the southerly line of
Parkway; thence easterly along the southerly li~e of the alley in
Block 1 West Park Tract and along the southerly line of Lot 3 in
said Block 1 to a point in the westerly line of Oleander Avenue
144.6 feet southerly from the southerly li~ of Parkway; thence
northerly alo~ the westerly line of Oleander ;~venue to the point
of begi~ni~. All in the City of Bakersfield, California.
All ~f the ~erein proposed work ~nall be done in pursuance
of an act of the Legislature of the State of California, designated
bne #Improvement ~ct of 1911# approved April 7, 1911, and all acts
amendatory tnereof.
NotiCe is hereby ~iven bnat on .~:~- %ne ~c~ day of

ncil ~n the Council Chambers of said City Council in
the City Hall of the City of B~kersfield, any and all persons na~ir~
any objections to the proposed work or improvement may appear before
said City Council arid snow cause why said proposed improvement
should not be carrie~ out in accordance with said Resolution.

The City Clerk of said City of Bakersfield snail cause
this Resolutior~ of Intention to be published twice in ~ne Bakersfield
Californian, a daily newspaper'printed, published and circulated in
said City of Bakersfield, and hereby designated for that pnrpose by
said City Council.
The Street Superintendent of the City of Bakersfield
shall cause to be conspicuously posted alorg~ the lines of said
contemplated work and improvememt and alorg all the open streets
within said district notices of the passage of this Resolution of
Intention in the manner and form required by law.
