RESOLUTIOF OF INTENTIOF TO IMPROVE~THAT

BAKERSFIELD, SOUTHERLY TO A LI~ 2 FEET
NORTHERLY FROM AWD PARALLEL TO TFE NORTH'
ERLY RAIBR0~J] TRACK IN TW.E RIG}~T OF WAY
OF THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC COMPA~YL IN A DISTRICT
TO BE KNOWN AS "STREET DISTRICT NO. 82" IN
THE CITY OF B~[ERSFIELD. CALIFOR~IA,
TO ISSUE BONDS IN PAYM~T THEREFORE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY T~.,E COU~'CIL OF TF2 CITY OF BAKERSFIELD,
~nat it is the intention of the City Council of the City of
Bakersfield to order the followirg work to be done a~d improvement
to be made in the said City, to-wit:
That a strip 24 feet wide alorg ard 12 feet on either"
side of the center line of Chester Avenue from the northerly City
Limits of the City of Bakersfield, southerly to a line 2 feet north-
erly from and parallel to the northerly railroad track in the right
of way of the Southern Pacific Company be regraded and the same area
be repaved with a six (6) inch cement concrete pavement; also
That a three foot stripbe regrad~daneitner side of said
pavement; includirg all intersections of streets and alleys within
the limits of the above descriptions and excepting also such portions
thereof as are required by law to be: payted kept~irorder or repair
by any person or company ~avirg railroad or car tracks thereon;) all
of the aforesaid work and improvement is to be done in accordance
with the plans ard specificaticns heretofore and on the ~day
of December, 1921, adopted by t~eCi~y Council of the City of Bakers-
field said plans being entitled 'PLAN FOR THE IMPR0¥E~E~T OF STREET
DISTRICT N0. 82 IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, CALIF.", and said speci-
fications being entitled "SPECIFICETIONS FOR THE IMPR0¥F~E~T OF
STREET DISTRICT N0. 82 IF THE CITY OF Bi~XERSFIFLD, CALIF.". and
which said plans ard specifications are on file in the office of
the City Clerk of the City of BBakersfield, ard are hereby referred
to and by such reference made a part ard portion hereof, and ir,
this connection the said plans and specifications also snow the

exact location of the aforesaid work and improvement.
And Whereas, said contemplated work and improvement, in
the opinion of the said City Council, is of more than local or ordi-
nary public benefit, said Council hereby m~kes the expense of said
work and improvement chargeable upon a district, which district said
City Council hereby declares to be the district ben~fitted by said
work and improvement and to be assessed to pay t~e costs and expenses
thereof, and which said district is bounded and described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the northerly line of 34tn Street
being the northerly City Limits of the City of Bakersfield, 122 feet
easterly from the easterly line of Chester Avenue and running thence
southerly on a line 122 feet easterly from and parallel to the east-
erly line of Chester Avenue to the southerly line of the right of
way of the Sout~nern Pacific Company; thence northwesterly alo~z the
southerly line of the right of way of the Southern Pacific Company
to its intersection with a line 122 feet westerly from and parallel
to the westerly lire of Chester Avenue; t~ence northerly on a line
122 feet westerly from and parallel to the westerly line of Chester
Avenue to the northerly City Limits of the City of Ba~<ersfield;
thence wasterly along said northerly City Limits and the northerly
line of 34tn Street to t~e point of beginning. All in the
City of Bakersfield, California.
~'otice is hereby given that serial bonds to represent
unpaid assessments, and bear interest at the rate of seven (7%) per
cent per annum will be issaed hereunder in the manner provided by
the Improvement Bond Act of 191~, and all acts amendatory thereof,
the last installment of which bonds snail mature four years from
5ne 2nd day of .July next succeedinz nin~ months from their date.
Except as nereinabove otherwise provided for the issu~¢~
of said serial bonds all of the herein proposed werk ~mnsll be done
in pursuance of an act of the Legislature of the State of California,
designated, "The Improvement Act of 1911" approved April, 7tn, 1911.
and all acts amendatory thereof.

The City Clerk of s~,~d City of B~ersfield sn~l cause
this Resolution of I~ention to be published twice in The B~ersfield
CaliforniaD, a daily newspaper printed, published ard circuited in
s~id. City of Bakersfield, a~d hereby des~nated for that purpose by
said City Council.
The Street superintendent of the City of Bakersfield
cause to be conspieuously posted ato~ the line of s~id contemplated
work and improvement and alo~ all the ope~ streets within said
district notice of the pass~e of this Resolution of Intention in
the manner ard form required by law.
