IN A DISTRICT KNOWF AS "STREET DISTRICT NO. 82" IN T~{E CITY OF BAKF. RSFIELD. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUFCIL OF Tt~E CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, That it is the i~tertion of the ~ity Oo~ncil of the City of Bakersfield to order the following work to be done ard improvemert to be made in the said City, to-wit: That a strip 24 feet wide along and 12 feet on either side of the center line of Chester Avenue from the northerly City Limits of the City of Bakersfield, southerly to a line 2 feet northerly from and parallel to the rortnerly railroad track in the rigat of way of the ~outnern Pacific Compary be graded ard the same area be paved with a six (6) iron cement corcrete pavemert; also That a three foot strip be graded o~ either side of said pavemert; includirg.~ all intersections of streets and alleys within the limits of the above descriptions and excluding therefrom the whole or amy portion of streets, alleys, street intersections or alley inter- sectiors on which pavement nas beer constructed to the official line ard grade ard exceptirg also SUCh portiors thereof as are required by law to be paved, kept in order or repair by any person or company navirg railroad or car tracks thereon; all Cf the said work and improve- ment is to be done in accordance with the plans and specifications heretofore and on the ~6/~day of November, 1921, adopted by the City Cou~il of the City of Bakersfield, said plans being entitled "PL~] FOR T~E IMPROVE~iE_WT OF STREET DISTRICT ~'0. 82 IN TFE CITY OF B~ERS- FIELD, CALIF.", and said. specifications beirg entitled "SPECIFICATIONS FOR T~ IMPR~V~E}~f OF STREET DISTRICT }'0. 82 IN THE CITY OF B~IERS- FIELD, CALIF.", and which said plats ard specificatioms are on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Bakersfield, and are hereby referred to and by each reference made a part and portion hereof, a~d 'l- in this connection the said plans and specifications also snow the e exact location of the aforesaid work and improvement. And Whereas, said contemolated work and improvement, in the opinion of tae said City Council, is of more than local or ordinary public benefit, said Council hereby makes the expense of said work and improvement chargeable upon a district, wnica district said City Coun- cil hereby declares to be the district benefitted by said work and improvement and to be assessed to pay the costs and expenses thereof, and which said district is bounded and dSscribed as follows: Beginnir~ at a point in the northerly line of 34tn Street, beir~o the northerly City Limits of the City of Bakersfield, 122 feet easterly from the easterly line of Chester Avenme and running thence southerly on a line 122 feet ly line of Chester Avenue to the Southern Pacific Company; easterly from and parallel to the easter- the southerly line of the right of way of thence northwesterly along the southerly line of the rign of way of the Southern Pacific Company to its inter- section with a line 122 feet westerly from and parallel to tae westerly line of Chester Avenue; thence northerly on a line 122 feet westerly from and parallel to the westerly line of Chester Avenue to the north- erly ~ity Limits of the City of Bakersfield; thence easterly along said northerly City Limits and the northerly line of ]4tn Street to the point of beginning. All in the City of Bakersfield, California. ~'otice is hereby given that serial bonds to represent ,~npaid assessments, and bear interest at the rate of seven ~(7~) per cent per ann~m will be issued hereunder in the manner provided by Me Improve- acts ment Bond Act of 1915, and all/amendatory thereof, the last installment of which bonds shall mature four years from the 2nd day of July next succeedin~ nine months from their date. Except as nereinabove otherwise provided for the issuance of said serial bonds all of the herein proposed work shall be done in pursuance of ar act of the Legislature of the ~tate of California, designated, "The Improvement Act of 1911" aoproved April, 7t~, 1911, and all acts amendatory thereof. -2- ~otice is hereby given that on Monday the ~__~ day of ~, 1921, at 8 o'clock P.M. at a r~Mul~r meetir~ of the said City Council, in the Council Chambers of said City Council in the City Hall of the City of Bakersfield, any and all persons raving any objec- tions to the proposed work or improvement may appear before said ~ity Council and snow cause ~ny said proposed ~mprovement should not be carried outrin accordance with said Resolution. The City Clerk of said City of Bakersfield snail cause this Resolution of Intention to be ~pu~li~ned twice in The Bakersfield Californian, a daily newspaper printed, publia~ed and circulated in said City of Bakersfield, and hereby designated for that purpose by said City Council. Tne Street Superintendent of said City of Bakersfield snail cause to be conspicuot~ly posted along the lire of said contemol~d work and improvement and ale ~r~ all the open streets within said ~ district notices of the passage of this Resolution of Intention in the manner and form required by law. I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution of Intention was regularly introduced, passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, at a regular meetis~ of said Council held on the ?~uday of ~ovember, 1921, by the following vote: -3-
