5. XERN RIVER LEVEE DISTRICT
A. Kern River Levee District Maintenance Update.
Don Richardson, Water Resources Superintendent, gave a brief update and
stated staff has developed the Kern River Levee Inspection Standard
Operating Procedures /Guidelines for inspecting and addressing issues for
maintaining the Kern River Levee System. Water Resources staff is assigned
to perform routine weekly levee inspections, Staff also maintains constant
communication with the CORPS of Engineers to ensure improved inspection
and levee maintenance. Board Information no action taken,

6. REPORTS
A. Kern River & Isabella Reservoir Operations Report
John Ryan, Hydrographic Supervisor, reviewed the end of year chart and
stated snow accumulation for the current year runoff is at 70 percent,
projected April /July runoff and is at 320,000 to 330,000 A,J. There are no
storms in the forecast for the following week. The Department of Water
Resources' field crew will survey at the end of January and staff will have
some hard numbers by February 1 St, and will get a forecast out by February 9,
2013, Board information, no action taken,
B. Report by RHS Consulting regarding Theory of Weather Modification,
Art Chianello, Water Resources Manager, introduced Rick Stone, RHS
Consulting, Mr, Stone gave a general overview PowerPoint presentation of
the 2013 Winter Season Program and answered questions. Board information,
no action taken.
C. Isabella Dam Safety Modification Project Update - For Board Information
Art Chianello, Water Resources Manager, stated the project has transitioned
to the design phase for mediation of the dam, and provided an overview and
the construction schedule, Mr. Chianello showed a short video published by
the Army Corps of Engineers highlighting what the Corps is doing.
