BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUMCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD,
as follows:
That it is the intention of the Council of the City of Bakers-
field to order the following street work to be done, to-wit:
SECTIO~~ 1. TTnat ~ Street be extended southerly alon~ and 41.25 feet
on either side of the center line of Block A, Lowell Addition, to the
northerly line of 6tn Street,
The lands necessary and convenient to be taken for said
purpose are described as follows, to-wit:
Beginning at a point in the northerly line of 6tn Street
263.99 feet easterly from the easterly line of L Street and running
thence nortaerly alorg a line 263.99 feet easterly from and parallel
to the easterly line of L Street to the southerly line of 8tn Street;
thence easterly along the southerly line of 8tn Street a distance of
41.25 feet~tnence southerly on a line ~05.24 feet easterly from and
parallel to the easterly line of L Street to tae northerly line of
6bn Street; thence westerly alorg the rortnerly li~e of 6tn Street to
the point of begirnir~.
SECTI0~' 2. That an alley running northerly and southerly through Block
a Lowell Addition, be opened.
The lands necessary ard convenient to be taken for said pur-
pose are described as follows, to-wit:

line~ ~wnicn said line is 142.62 feet easterly from and parallel to the
easterly line of L Street, and exterds southerly from the southerly
line of 8tn Street to the rortnerly line of 6tn Street, in Block A
Lowell Addition.

And said Council does hereby determine and declare tna.t said
proposed work and improvement is of more than local or ordinary pub-
lic benefit, and will affect and benefit the lands and district here-
inafter described, and which said district is hereby declared to be the
district affected and benefitted by said work and improvement, and
that therefore the entire damages, costs and expenses of said work and
improvement be and are hereby made chargeable against and snail be
assessable upon said lands and district, which district is within the
City of Bakersfield, County of Kern, State of California; and the
exterior boundaries of the lands affected and benefitted by said work
and improvement a~e particularly described as follows, to-wit:
Beginning at the intersection of the northerly line of 6tn
Street with the easterly line of L Street running thence northerly
along the easterly line of L Street to the southerly line of 8tn Street;
thence easterly along the southerly line of 8tn Street to the westerly
line of N Street;thence southerly alorg~ the westerly line of ~ Street
to the northerly line of 6tn Street; thence westerly alor~ the nortner~
ly line of 6tn Street to ~ne point of beginning.
All of the herein proposed work shall be done in pursuance of
an act of the legislature of the State of California entitled, "an act
to provide for the laying out, opening, extending, widening, straighten-
ing or closir~ up, in whole or in part, any street, square, lane, alley,
court or place within municipalities, and to condemn and acquire any
and all land and property necessary or convenient for that purpose,'
approved March 6, 1889, a~d the several acSs amendatory thereof or
supplemental thereto.
"T~.E B~3[ERSPIW~LD CALIFOR?IA~'" is hereby designated as the
daily newspa!~er published and circulated in said City in which the
Superintendent's notice of the passag~e of this Resolution snail be
published.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution ws,s passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, on the
