RESOLGTION OF INTES~ION TO CONSTRUCT
SEWERS IN A DISTRICT KNOWN AS 'SEWER
DISTRICT NO. 46' IN THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD.
WHEREAS,
that the work and

the public interest and convenience require
improvement hereinafter described Should be done;
in the opinion of the Council of the City of
Bakersfield, said contemplated work and improvement is, and is
hereby declared to .be more than local or ordinary public benefit;
NOW T~FREFORE, the Council of the City of Bakersfield
does hereby resolve and declare that St is the intention of said
Council to order the followirg work and improvement to be done in
said City, to-wit:
To construct an eight (8) inch sewer of vitrified salt
glazed sewer pipe in 6t~ Street beginnirg at a point in the center
line of N Street 45 feet south of the northerly line of 6tn Street
and runnirg thence easterly on a line 45 feet so,tn of the north-
erly line of 6tn Street, to a point
also
To construct an eight (8)
in the center line of R Street;
inch sewer of vitrified salt
glazed sewer pipe on the center line of P Street from a point 45
feet south of the northerly line of 6tn Street to a point 28.75
feet norta of the southerly line of 8tn Street; also
To construct an eight (8) inch sewer of vitrified salt
glazed sewer pipe on the center line of R Street from a point 45
feet sOUth of the northerly line of 6tn Street to a point 28.75
feet north of the southerly line of 8tn Street; also
To construct an eight (8) inch sewer of vitrified salt
glazed sewer pipe in 8tn Street from a point in the center line ef
P Street 28.75 feet north of the southerly line of 8tn Street
easterly to a point in the center line of the alley between Q and
R Street; i al so

the westerly line of P Street to a point 20 feet west of the
westerly line of Q Street; also
To construct a six (6) inch sewer of vitrified salt
glazed sewer pipe alorg tne center line of the alley between Q
and R Streets from a point 28.75 feet north of the southerly line
of 8tn Street to a point 30 feet south of the southerly line of
10tn Street; also
To construct a six (6) inch sewer of vitrified salt
glazed sewer pipe along the center line of the alley between R
and S Streets from a point 28.7~ feet north of the soataerly line
of 8tn Street to a point 20 feet south of the southerly line of
9tn Street; also
To construct mannoles and lampnoles at certain points
as muown on the plan therefor filed in the Clerk's office in said
City of Bakersfield; also
To place Y branches in said sewer for house connections
at each lot and parcel of lar~, in tne district, fronting on the
sewer. Location of Y branches to be designated by the City
Engineer; all in the City of Bakersfield, sa~d plans and specifica-
tions were filed in the office of the City Clerk of ~aid City
on the %/~J~day of . ~ , 1921, said plan being
entitled 'PLAN FOR TW.E IMPROVEmEnT OF SEWER DISTRICT ~0. 46 IN THE
CITY OF BAi~ERSFI~LD, CALIF.', and s$id specifications being entitled
"SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE IMPrOVEmENT OF SEWER DISTRICT NO. 46 IN
THE CITY OF B~{ERSFIELD, CALIP.', which said plans and specifications
were adopted and approved by the ~omncil of the Oity of Bakersfield
tions according to which said work snail be done and which are
hereby referred to for a more particular description of said work
and imlmro vement.
All of the herein proposed work snail be done in pursmance
of an act of the LegiAl&ture of the State of California designated
as 'THE IMPROVEMENT ACT O~ 1911" approved April 7tn, 1911, and all
acts amendatory thereof.
To construct an eight (8) inC~ sewer of vitrified salt
glazed sewer pipe in 8tn Street from a point in the center line of
R Street 28.75 feet north of the southerly line of 8tn Street
easterly to the certer line of the alley between R and S Streets;
also
To construct a six (6) inca sewer of vitrified salt
glazed sewer pipe in M Street from a point 45 feet south of the
northerly line of 6tn Street thence northerly alor~ a line ~7.25
feet west of the easterly line of M Street to a point 1~2 feet
so,tn of tae soutaerly line of 8tn Street; also
To construct a six (6) inca sewer of vitrified salt
~lazed sewer pipe in 0 Street from a point 45 feet south of the
northerly line of 6tn Street thence northerly alorg a line 37.25
feet east of the westerly line of 0 Street a distance of 340.25

To construct a six (6) inca sewer of vitrified salt
glazed sewer pipe in 8tn Street from a point in the center line
of the alley between Q and R Streets thence easterly alo~ a line
28.75 feet north of the southerly line of 8tn Street a distance of

glazed sewer pipe in 8tn Street from a point in the center line cf

glazed sewer pipe in the alley between P and Q Streets from a point

to the center line of t~e alley between Oalifornia Avenue and lltn
Street; also
To construct a six (6) inca sewer of vitrified salt
glazed sewer pipe alorg~ the center line of the alley between
California Avenue and lltn Street from a point 20 feet east of ~'

Ami this Council does hereby determine and declare that
the said proposed work and improvement is of more than local or
ordinary public benefit a~d will affect and benefit the lands and
districts hereinafter described, wnic~ said district ia hereby
declared to be the district benefitte~by said work and improve-
ment, and that, therefor, the entire costs and expenses of said
work and improvement shall be and is hereby made chargeable against
and shall be assessed aport said lands and district which said
district is within t~e City of Bakersfield, County of Kern, State
of California, and snail be known and called 'Sewer District
46' and is more partic,,larly bounded and described as follows, to-
wit:
Beginnirg~ at the intersection of the northerly line of
6tn Street with t~e easterly line of L Street and running thence
easterly along the northerly line of 6tn Street a distance of
1%2.62 feet; taence northerly on a line 1~2.62 feet easterly from
and parallel to the easterly line of L Street to a point 132 feet

line 132 feet southerly from and parallel to the southerly line of
8tn Street to the wemterly line of P Street; taence northerly

~otice is hereby given that at 8 o'clock P.M. on Monday
/~~, /~ , 1921, at the Council Chambers in the City
Hall of the City of Bakersfield, is the time and place hereby
fixed when and where any and all persons navi~g objections to the
proposed work or improvement may appear before the Council of t~e
City of Bakersfield and snow cause wny said proposed improvement
should not be carried out in accordance witn said Resolution.
The Clerk of this Council shall cause this Resolution of
Intention to be published twice in THE BAKERSFIELD CALIFORNIAN a
daily newspaper published in said City and hereby designated for
that purpose by the Council of the City of Bakersfield.
The Superintendent of Streets of said City snail cuawe
to be conspicuously posted along the lines of said contemplated
work or improvement and in front of the property liable to be
assessed, and along all the open streets within such districts,
notice of the passage of this Resolution of Intention, in the
manner and form and within the time required by law.
I HEREBY certify that the foregoirg Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, on the ~/~
day of November, 1921, by the following vote:
