IN STREET DISTRICT N0. ~0 IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, A~D TO ISSUE BO~DS IN PAYM~T T~.EREFOR. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE_. COUNCIL 0F THE CITY OF BAKER.~?IEI~ as follows: That it is the intention of the 0ity Council of the City of Bakersfield to order the following work to be done and improvement to be made in said City to-wit: SECTI0}~ 1. That Kentucky Street be graded, between the official existing curbs thereon, from the westerly line of Baker Street to the easterly lineof Union Avenue, that cement concre~te gutters be construc- ted on either side of tae roadway and that Said roadway be paved with a three and one-naif (33) inca asphalt concrete base and a one and one- aalf (lb) inca ~Varrenite-Bitulitnic wearing surface. SECTION 2. That cement concrete culverts covered wits corrugated iron and provided wi~n cast iron mannole frames, fitted with steel covers, be constructed at tae intersection of Kentucky Street, with Sacramento Street, I~yo Street, Tulare Street and Kern Street. SECTION 3. That a storm sewer of twelve (12) inca vitrified salt glazed sewer pipe be constructed along the following described linej beginning on a lire 18 feet nortaerly from the southerly line ef Kentucky Street at a point 14 feet easterly from the westerly line of Stockton Street and running thence westerly on a line 18 feet northerly from tne southerly line of Kentucky Street to a point 30 feet easterly from the westerly line of Union Avenue; thence southerly on a line ~0 feet easterly from the westerly l~ne of Union Avenue to a point 18 feet southerly from the northerly line of 24tn Street; tnence westerly on a line 18 feet southerly from the northerly line of 24tn Street to its outlet in the easterly bank of Kern Island Canal; also, that mannoles and catch basins, with eight (8) inca vitrified salt glazed sewer pipe lateral connections be constructed ~t certain points as sncw~ on the plans a~d that a cement concrete head wall be constructed at the sewer -l' outlet in the easterly'bank of Kern Island Canal. Includin~ all intersections'of streets within the limits of the aboue descriptions, and excluding therefrom the whole or any portion of streets, or street intersections on l~nicn pavement or gutters nave been constructed to the official line and grade, and excepting also such portions thereof ae are required by law to be paved, kept in ~rder or repair by any person or company having rail- road or car tracks thereon; all of said work and improvement is to be done in accordance with the plans and specifications heretofore and on the ~L/~d~y of ~ . 1921, adopted by the City Council of the City of Bakersfield, said plans being entitled #PLAE FOR THE IMPROV~E~T OF STREET DISTRICT N0. 80 IN THE CITY.OF BAKERSFIELD, CALIF.#, and said specifications being entitled 'SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE IMPROVDAENT OF STREET ~ISTRIOT NO. 80 IN TH? CITY OF BAKERSFI~SD, OALIF.,' and which said plans and specifications are on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Bakersfield, and are hereby referred ~o and by such reference made a part and portion hereof, and in this connection the said plans and specifications also snow the exact location of the aforesaid work and improvement. The paving work aforesaid shall be done also in accord- ance with the terms and conditions set forth in the Warrenite-Bitulitnic License Mixture Agreement, entered into by said City Council with the Warren Brothers Company dated~ ~ ~ ! ~/ n~rmitting the laying of a pavement for wnicn United States Letters Patent are held by said Company, wnicn Warrenite-Bitulitnic License Mixture ~.greement is also on file in the office of said City Clerk and is hereby referred to; and the wearing surface mixture of said paving work will be required to be procured of said Warren B~otners Company as provided in said Warrenite-Bitulitnic License Mixture ~greement. And Whereas, said contemplated work and improvement, in the opinion of said City Council ~s' of more than local or ordinary pub- lic benefit, said council hereby makes the expense of said work and improvement chargeable upon a district, wnicn district said City Cour~ cil hereby declares to be the district benefitted by said work and -2- improvement and to be assessed to pay the costs and expenses thereof, and wnicn said district is bounded 'and described as follows: Beginning at a point in the westerly line of Baker Street 1~0 feet northerly from the northerly lire of Kent~Acky Street and running thence westerly on a line 150 feet nortnarly from and parallel to the northerly line of Kent~ucky Street to the westerly line of Union Avenue; thence southerly alo~g~ the westerly line of Union Ave- nue to the northerly line of 24tn Street; thence westerly along the northerly line of 24tn Street a distance of 600 feet; t~ence southerly at ~ignt angles a distance 82.~ feet to a point ~nttne southerly line of 24tn Street; thence easterly along +me southerly line of 24tn Street to a point %7.7~ feet easterly from the westerly line of Union Avenue; thence northerly along a lire %7.7% feet easterly from and parallel to the westerly line of Union Avenue to its intersection with a line feet southerly from and parallel to the southerly line of Kentucky Street; thence easterly along said line 1%0 feet southerly from and parallel to the southerly line of Kentucky Street to the westerly line of Baker Street; thence northerly along the westerly line of Baker Stremt to the t~oint of ~eginning. All in the City of Bakersfield~~~, Notice is hereby given that serial bonds to represent unpaid assessments, and bear interest at the rate of sever (7~) per cent per annum will be issued hereunder in the manner provided by the Improvement Bond Act of 1915, and all acts amendatory thereof, tne last installment of which bonds~mature nine years from the 2nd day of July next succeedi~E nine months from their date. Except as herein above otnerwide provided for the issuance of said serial bonds all of the herein proposed work shall be done in pursuance of ar act of the Legislature of the State of California, deaiE~ted the Improvement Act of 1911, approved April 7, 1911, and all acts amendatory thereof. Notice is hereby given that or Monday. the /~ay of ~, , 1921, at 8 o'clock P.M. at the regular meeting of the s~id City Council, in the Council Chambers of said City Council in the City Hall of the City of Bakersfield, any and all persons raving any objections to the propose~ work or improvemert may appear before said City Council and snow cause why said proposed improvement should not be carried out in accordance with said Resolution. The City Clerk of said City of Bakersfield shall cause this Resolution of Intention to be published twice in the THE BAKERS- FIELD CALIFORWIA~', a daily newspaper printed, published and circulated in said City of Bakersfield, and hereby designated for that purpose. by said City Council.
