BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUFCIL OF THE CITY OF B~{ERg~IELD,
as follows:
That it is the intention of the Council of the City of B~srs-
field to order the following street work to be done and improvement
to be made, to-wit:
That 32nd Street from the easterly line of Chester Avenue to
the southerly line of the right of way of the Southern Pacific Company;
also that K Street from the northerly line of 31st Street to the south-
erly line of the right of way of the ~outnern Pacific Company; also ~
that the alley running northerly a~d southerly through block 604 from
the northerly line of 31st Street to Me southerly lien fo ~2nd Street
be closed to the public;
And said Council does hereby determine and declare that ~aid
proposed work and improvement is of more than local or ordinary public
benefit, and will affect and benefit the lands and district hereinafter
described, and which said district is hereby declared to be the dis-
trict affected and benefitted by said work and improvement, and that
therefore the entire dsm_~ges, costs and expenses of said work and
improvement shall be and are hereby made chargeable against , and shall
be assessable upon said lands and district, which said ~istrict is with
in the City of Bakersfield. County of Kern. State of California and the
exterior boundaries of the lands affected and benefitted by said work
and improvememt are particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the easterly line of Chester
Avenue with the northerly line of 31st Street a~ running thence nortn~
erly along the easterly line of Chester Avenue to the southerly line of
the right of way of the Southern Pacific Company; thence southeasterly
alor~ the southerly line of the right of way of the Southern Pacific
Compa~ to the northerly line of ]lst Street; thence weaterly alor~ the
northerly line of Slst Street to the point of beginnir~. All i~ the
City of Bakersfield, California.
Ail of the herein proposed werk and:improvemert snail he done
in pursuance of an Act of the Legislature of the State of California
entitled, 'AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR THE LAYING OUT, OPENING, EXTEk~DING,
WIDENING, STR~.IGHTENING OR CLOSING UP, IN ~0LE 0R IN P~RT, A~Y STREET,
SQUARE, LANE, ALLEY, COURT OR PLACE WITHIN MU~ICIPALITIES, AND TO CON-.
DEMN AND ACQUIRE A~Y AND ALL LAND NECESSARY OR C0~WENIENT FOR THAT
PURPOSE," approved March 6, 1889, and the several acts amendatory
thereof or supplemental thereto.
THE BAKERSFIELD CALIFOR~'IAN is hereby designated as the daily
newspaper p~blisned ard circulated in said City in which the Street
Superi~tendent's notice of the passage of this Resolution snail be
publ i shed.
I HEREBY CERTIFY ~nat the foregoir~ Resolution was passed and
adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, on the ~ day of
