BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD,
as follows:
That it is
City of Bakersfield,
improvement to be made in the said City,
the intention of the City Council of the
to order the following work to be done and
to-wit:
SECTION 1.
That the curb grades at the intersection East 19th
Street and Miller Street as established by Ordinance No. ll2 New
Series passed and adopted by the Council of the City'of Bakers-
field, January 9th, 1922, at 103.40 be changed and re-established
at 102.70; which figures represent the elevation of the top of
the curbs in feet and hundredths of a foot above the datum plane
as established by Ordinance No. 18, passed and adopted by the
Board of Trustees of sai~ity May 3rd, 1898, the existing
grades
and the proposed grades are fully setforth smd shown on the
plan and which said plan is now on file in the office of the
City Clerk and is hereby referred to for further and complete
particulars.
SECTION 2.
That cement concrete curbs and sidewalks be constructed
to the official line and grade on either side of East 19th
Street from a line 14 feet westerly from the easterly line of
King Street to a line 14 feet easterly from the westerly line of
Miller Street; except that on the southerly side of East 19th
Street between Owens Street and East Truxtun Avenue no curb or
sidewalk shall be constructed;
SECTION 3.
That cement concrete curbs and. sidewalks be constructed
to the official line and grade on either side of Fremont Street
from the westerly line of Gage Street to a line 14 feet easterly
from the westerly line of Miller Street.
SECTION 4.
That cement concrete curbs and sidewalks be constructed
to the official line and grade on either side of Eureka Street
from the westerly line of Owens Street to a line 14 feet easterly
from the westerly line of ~iller Street;
Including all street intersections within the limits
of the above descriptions and excluding therefrom the whole or
any portion of streets or street intersections on which curbs
or sidewalks have been constructed to the official line and grade,
and excepting also such portions as are reouired by law to be
kept in order or repair by any person or company having railroad
tracks thereon.
All of said work and improvement is to be done in
accordance with the plan and specifications heretofore and on the
~6)~ay of I~ovember, 1922, adopted by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield, said plan being entitled "PLAN F0ii THE IMPROVE~tENT
OF STREET DISTRICT NO. IN T~I~ CITY 0F BAKERSFIELD, CALIF.",
and said specifications being entitled "SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE
I~PROVEMEI~T OF STREET DI STRICT NO. IN TttE CITY OF ~d~S IEL~,
CALIF.", and which said plan and specifications are on file in
the office of the City Clerk of the City of Bakersfield, and are
hereby referred to and by such reference made a part and portion
hereof, and in this connection the said plans and specifications
also show the exact location of the aforesaid work and improvement.
And Wl~ereas, said ~ontemplated work and improvement in
the opinion of the ~aid ~ity Council is of more than local or
ordinary public benefit, said Council hereby makes the expense of
said work and improvement chargeable upon a district, which dis-
trict said City Council hereby declares to be the district benefited
by said work and improvement and to be assessed to pay the costs
and expenses thereof, and which said district is bounded and des-
cribed as follows:
Beginning at the point of intersection of ~ line 14 feet
westerly from ~nd parallel to the ~asterly line of King Street
with a line 180 feet northerly from an~ parallel to the northerly
line of East 19th Street an~ runuin~ thence easterly on said llne
parallel to the northerly line of East 19t~ Street to a point 14
feet easterly from the westerly line of miller Street; thence
southerly on a line parallel to the westerly line of ~iller Street
to a point 150 feet southerly from the southerly line of Eureka
Street; thence westerly on a line parallel to the southerly
line of Eureka Street to a p6int 190 feet westerly from the westerly
line of Owens Street; thence~n0rtherly on a line parallel to the
westerly line of Owens Street to a point 180 feet northerly from
the northerly ~ne of Eureka Street; thence easterly on a line
parallel to t?~e northerly line of Eureka Street to a point 200
feet westerly from the westerly line of Gage Street; thence
northerly on a line parallel to the westerly line of Gage Street
to a point 150 feet southerly from the southerly line of
East 19th Street; thence westerly on a line parallel to the south-
erly line of East 19th Street to a point 14 feet westerly from
the ~asterly line of King Street; thence northerly on a line 14
feet westerly from an~ parallel to the easterly line of King Street
to the point of beginning.
All of the herein proposed work shall be done in
pursuance of an act of the Legislature of the State of California,
designated the "Improvement Act of 1911" approved April 7th, 1911,
and all acts amendatory t¥.ereof.
Notice is hereby given that on ~onday the //~bda~ of
December, 19~B, at 8 o'clock P.~. at the regular meeting of said
City Council in the Council Chambers of said City Council in the
City Hall ~af the Cit~ of Bakersfield, any and all persons having
any objections to t]~e proposed work or improvement may appear
before said Cit~ Council ard show cause wbl~ said proposed
improvement should not be carried out in accordance with s~id
Resolution.
The City Clerk of saidCity of Bakersfield s]~all cause
this Resolution of Intention to be published twice in the The
Daily Report, a daily newspaper printed, publiehed and circulated
in said City of Bakersfield, and hereby designated for that p~rpose
by said City Council.
The Street Superintendent of the City of Bakersfield
shall cause to be conspicuously posted along the lines of said
contemplated work and improvement and along all the open streets
within said district notices of the passage of this Resolution
of Intention in the manner ang form required b~T law.
I t]EREBY CERTIFY[ that the foregoing Resolution of
I~tention was duly and regularl;,~ introduced, passed and adopted
by the City Council of the City of Bakersfield, at a regular meet-
ing of said City Council held on the ~d~, day of November,
by the following vote:
