AND TO ISSUE BONDS IN PAYMENT
THEREFOR.
as folIows:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD,
That it
City of Bakersfield to
improvement to be made
is the intention of the City Council of the
order the following work to be cdone and
in the said city, to-wit:
SECTION 1.
That Jefferson Street from the easterly llne of Baker
Street to the center line of King Street be graded between the
existing curbs thereon; that cement concrete gutters be constructed
on either side of the roadway and that the roadway be paved
with a three and one-half (3~) inch asphalt concrete base ~d a
one and one-half (l~) inch Warrenite-Bit~llthic wearin~ surface.
SECTION 2.
That Jefferson Street from the center line of King
Street to the center line of Beale Avenue be graded between the
northerly property llne and the center line of said Jefferson
Street; that cement concrete curbs, gutters and sidewalks be con-
structed to the official line and ~rade on the northerly side of
~he roadway and that the roadway or that portion between the center
line and gutter be paved with a three and One-half (3½) inch
asphalt concrete base and a one and one-half (l~) inch Warrenite-
Bitnlithic wearing surface.
SECTION 3.
That Beale Avenue from the northerly line of Jefferson
Street to the northerly line of Lincoln Street be graded between
the easterly prop,~rt~ line and the center line of said Beale Ave-
nue; that cement concrete curbE, gutters and sidewalks be constructed
to the official line and grade on the easterly side of said avenue~
concrete
that a cement/'boptng be constructed on a line ten feet easterly from
the center line of said avenue from the southerly line of Jefferson
Street to the northerly line of Lincoln Street aud that the road-
way lying between the coping and ~utter be paved with.a three and
one-half (34) inch asphalt concrete base an5 a one and one-half
(l~) inch Warrenite-Bitulithic wearing surface;
Including all intersections of streets and alleys
within the limits of the above descrtption~ and excluding there~
from the whole or any portion of streets, alleys, street intersec-
tions or alley intersections on which pavement curbs, gutters or
sidewalks have been constructed to the official line and grade.
SECTIOB 4.
That cement concrete culverts covered with corrugated
iron be construted as shown on the plans at the intersection of
Jefferson Street and Beale Avenue.
All of said work and improvement is to be done in
accordance with the plans and specifications heretofore and on the
~O~a~ of November, 1922, adoDted by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield, said plan being entitled "PLAN FOR THE INPROV~ENT
OF S~REET DISTRICT NO. ~ IN THE CIT~ OF BAK?~RSFIELD, CALIF.",
and said specifications being entitled "SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE~
I~PROVE~T OF STREET DISTRICT NO.~L~ IN THE CITY OF B~ERSFIELD,
CALIF.", and which said plans and specifications are on fil~ in
the office of the City Clerk of the City of Bakersfield, and are
hereby referred to and by such reference made a part and portion
hereof.
Attention ~s called to the ~arrenite-Bttullthic License
Mixture A~reement of ~arren Brothers Company of Boston, Mass., of
, 1922, and on file in the office of the
date ~v~.
City Clerk.
AND ~HEREAS, said contemplated work and improvement
in the opinion of the said City Council is of more than local or
or ordinary public benefit, said Council hereby makes the costs
and expenses of said work and improvement chargeable upon a dis-
trict, which district said City Council hereby declares to be
the district benefited by said work and improvement and to be
assessed to pay the costs and expenses ~hereof, and which said
district is bounded and described as follows:
Beginning at a
point in the easterly line of B~er Street 180 feet northerly from
the northerly line of Jefferson Street and running thence easterly
on a line parallel to the northerly line of Jefferson Street 135
feet; thence southerly on a line parallel to the easterly line of
Baker Street l0 feet; thence easterly on a line 1BO feet northerly
from and parallel to the northerly line of Jefferson Street to the
easterly City Limits, the same being the east line of Section
Twenty (~0), Township Twenty-nine (~9), South Range Twenty-eight
(~8) E, M.D.B. & N.~ thence southerly along said city limits to
its intersection with the northerly line of Lincoln Street; thence
westerly along the northerly line of Lincoln Street to the
center line of Beale Avenue; thence northerly along the center
line of Beale Avenue to the center line of Jefferson Street; thence
westerly along the center line of Jefferson Street to the
center l~ne of King Street; thence southerly along the center line
of King Street to a point 180 feet southerly from the southerly
line of Jefferson Street; thence westerly on a line parallel to
the southerly line of Jefferson Street to the easterly line of
Baker Street; thence northerly along the easterly line of Baker
Street to the point of beginning.

Notice is hereby given
All in the Bernard Addition
tha~ serial bonds to represent
unpaid assessments, and bear interest at the rate of seven (7%)
per cent per annum will be issued hereunder in the manner provided
by the Improvement Bond Act of 1915, and all acts amendatory there-
of, the last installment of which bonds shall mature nine years
from the
date.
2nd day of July next succeedin~ nine months from their
F~xcept as hereinabove otherwise provided for the
issuance of said serial bonds all of the herein proposed work
shall be done in pursuance of an act of the Legislature of the
State of California, designated the "Improvement Act of 1911"
approved April 7th, l~ll, and all acts ~nendatory thereof.
Notice is h~reby given that on ~onday the //~'~ay
of ~, 192~, at 8 o'clock P.~. at~a regular meeting of
the said City Cotmcil in the Council Chamber of said City Council
in the City Hall of ~e City of Bakersfield, any and all persons
having any objections to the proposed work or improvement may appear
before said City Council and show c~se why said proposed improve-
ment should not be carried out in accordance with said Resolution.
The City Clerk of saidCity of Bakersfield shall cause
this Resolution of Intention to be published twice in the THE
DAILY REPORT, a daily newspaper printed, published and circulated
in said City of Bakersfield, and hereby designated for that pur-
pos~ by said City Council.
The Street Superintendent of said City of Bakersfield
shall cause to be conspicuously posted along the lines of said
contemplated work and improvement and along all the open streets
within said district, notice of the passage of this Resolution of
Imtention in the manner and form required by law, and in said
notice he shall call attention to the Warrenite-Bitulithic License
~txture A~reement of the Warren Brothers Company of Boston,
Mass., of date ~/o~T, /~ , 1922, on file in the office
of the City Clerk.
I HE~EB¥ CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution of Inten-
tion was regularly, introduced, passed and adopted by the City
Council of the City of Bakersfield, at a regular meeting of said
Council held on the ~day of ~ 1922, by the follow-
