BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, as follows: That it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Bakersfield, to order the followin~ work to be done and improvement to be made in the said City, to-wit: SECTION i That California Avenue from the easterly line of Chester Avenue to the easterly line of Ivl Street be graded; that cement concrete gutters be constructed on either side of the roadway and that the following described portions of said roadway be paved with a four (4) inch asphalt concrete base and a one and one-half (1~) inch Warrenite-Bitulit~ic wearing surface; (a) A strip 24 feet wide and 12 feet on either side of the Center line.of said California Avenue from a line 33 feet east- erly from and parallel to the easterly line of Chester Avenue to the easterly line of N Street. (b) Those portions of the intersections of K and L Streets with California Avenue lying north of a line l~ feet northerly from and parallel to the center line of California Avenue. (c) Beginning at a point in the easterly line of Chester Avenue 19.4 feet northerly from the southerly line of California Avenue and running thence northerly along the easterly line of Chester Avenue to a point 19.4 feet southerly from the northerly line of California Avenue; thence southea?,terly on a straight line to the point of intersection of a line 12 feet northerly from and parallel to the center line of California Avenue with a line 33 feet easterly from and parallel to the easterly line of Chester Avenue; thence southerly on a line parallel to the easterly line of Chester Avenue 24 feet; thence southwesterly on a straight line to the point of beginning. SECTION 2. That California Avenue fron the easterly line of ~ Street to the westerly line of Q Street be graded; that cement concrete curbs and gutters be constructed to the official line and grade on either side of said avenue and that a strip 24 feet wide and 12 feet on either side of the center line of said avenue be paved with a four (4) inch asphalt concrete base and a one and one-half (l~) inch ~arrenite-Bitulithic wearing surfaces Including all intersections of streets and alleys within the limits of the above descriptions and excluding therefrom the whole or any portions of streets, alleys, street intersections or alley intersections on which curbs, gutters or pavements have been constructed to the official line and grade. SECTION 3. That a strip thirty-four (34) feet -~de and 17 feet on either side of the following described line in Cal%fornia Avenue be graded and that a strip twenty-four (24) feet wide and 12 feet on either side of the same line be paved with a four (4) inch as~halt concrete base an~ a one and one-half (l~) inch ~.Varrenite- Bitulithic wearing surface. S~id line being described as Follows: beginning at the intersection of the center line of California Avenue with the westerly line of Q Street and running thence easterly along the center line of California Avenue to a. polnt $0 feet westerly from the easterly line of T Street; thence northeasterly on a straight line to a point in the center line of said California Avenue 80 feet easterly from the easterly line of T Street; thence easterly alon~ the center line of said SEOTiON 4. California Avenue to the westerly line of Union Avenue. That cement concrete culverts covered with corrugated iron be constructed as shown on the plans at the intersections and V of K, N / Streets with California Avenue. All of said work and improvement is to be done in accord- ance with the plan and specifications heretofore and one,the ~ d~¥ of ~ , 1922, adopted by the Council of~ the City of Bakersfield, said plan being entitled "PLAN FOR THE MPROVEM T OF STREET O STRICT THE c TY OF BAKeRS'FIELD, CALIF.", and said specifications being ~ntitled "SPECIFICATIONS FOR ~ ~ ±~ IMPROVEi~IENT OF STREET DISTRICT ~0. IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, CALIF.", and which said plans and specifications are on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Bakersfield, and are hereby referred to and by such reference made a part and portion hereof. Attention is called to the Warren~te-Bitulithic License Mixture Agreement of Warren Brothers Company of Boston, Mass., of date ~ ~ 1922, and on file in the office of the City Clerk. And ~'~erea~, said contemplated work and improvement in the opinion of the said City Council is of more than local or ordi- nary public benefit, said Council hereby makes the costs and expenses of said work and improvement c~argeable upon a district, which district said City Council horeby declares to be the dis- trict benefitted.by said work and improvement a~d to be assessed to pay the costs and expenses thereof, and which said district is bounded and described as follows: ~ginning at a point in the easterly line of Chester Avenue 308.28 feet northerly from the northerly ~ne of California Avenue and running thence easterly on a line 308.28 feet northerly from and parallel to the northerly line of California Avenue to the westerly line of ~ Street; thence southerly along the westerly line of N Street to a point 115.8 feet northerly from the northerly line of California Avenue; thence easterly on a line 115.8 feet northerly from and parallel to the northerly line of California Avenue to the westerly line of Union Avenue; thence southerly along the westerly line of Union Avenue to a point 132 feet southerly from the southerly line of California Avenue; thence westerly on a line 132 feet southerly from and parallel to the southerly line of California Avenue to the easterly ~ne of T Sb~eet; thence northerly along the easterly line of T Street 16.8 feet; thence westerly on a line 118.$ feet southerly from ~ parallel to the southerly line of California Avenue to the easterly line of Chester Avenue; thence northerly along the easterly line of Chester Avenue to the point of beginning. All in the City of Bakersfield, California. Notice is hereby given that serial bonds to represent unpaid assessments, and bear interest at the rate of seven (7~) per cent per anntun will be issued hereunder in the manner pro- vided by the Improvement Bond Act of 1915, and all acts amendatory thereof, the last installment of which bonds shall mature four years from the 2nd day of July next succeeding nine months from their date. Except as hereinabove otherwise provided for the issuance of said serial bonds all of the herein proposed wo~k shall be ~one in pursuance of an act of the Legislature of the State of Califor- nia, designated the "Improv0m0nt Act of 1911" approved April 7th 1911, and all acts s~endatory thereof. Notice is hereby given that on ~ionday the ..~day of ~~l~, 19~2, at 8 o'clock P.~. at a regular meeting of the said. City Council in the Council Chamber of said City Council in the City Hall of the City of Bakersfield, any and all persons having any objections to the proposed work or improve- ment may appear before said City Council aod show cause why said proposed improvememt should not be carried out in accordance with said Resoluvmon. The City Clerk of said City of Bakersfield shall cause this Resolution of Intention to be published twice in the THE DAILY REPORT, a daily'newspaper printed, published and circulated in said City of Bakersfield, and hereby designated for that pur- pose by said City Council.
